Not all matchy matchy are bad. Distinctively dissimilar items with the same base color is okay for me. I know many people won't like it, but I do.
Another potential issue is the polka dot pattern in the square, I believe @Pliny is of the position that it should never be used for anything but ties. I respectfully disagree

Since it is raining in NYC, and will rain heavily during the day, no fit photo for today, but a reminiscence of Paris - me looking baleful that all of my charcuterie for lunch had mysteriously disappeared - La Palette in the Rue de Seine. We shall see if "lifestyle" Crusty is better than normally posed Crusty.

For the friday challenge :

For a dinner with some friends this evening :

Jacket was found in London 4 years ago, think that's from late 70's, very particular, a velvet jacket with patch pocket

Cufflink was to my grand-father, he works for the "marine marchande" and was a pretty great sailor, you can see his Initials on the sails.

I've been strongly contemplating pulling the trigger on a brown double breasted suit recently. This may push me over the edge. Very nice combo, I love the fabric!

In case you are interested in experiencing Versailles in a different manner, consider going to the masked ball. Guests must wear a Baroque costume and a mask for admission. People go all out.

Here is a blog post about it from a couple years ago.
