It is indeed a beautiful tie.

Would look even better without the slubs. Just saying

 Today. Hopsack. Oxford. Sharkskin.

The BD does have a lot of roll, but I still think it looks somewhat off. Should I tame it down a little bit on my next order?

I know, right? :embar:

Seriously tho, has anyone ever considered going for less roll? Now that I look at the picture, I guess what puts me off is the way the tips of the collar leaves "land" on the shirt front. It looks somewhat stiff.

I don't think the roll is the issue, more that the collar just looks too big

Who makes that shirt?  I like it.  The tall collar makes it a little peacocky I suppose. But it looks good tieless.

Agreed.  Good overall look though.

Thanks for kindly pointing out the problem. That must be it! Is it simply fixed by making the whole collar smaller, or do I only need to have the back of the collar shortened and keep the length of the leaves? I suppose making the whole collar smaller would sacrifice a bit of roll and height.

I think he's referring specifically to the collar band. That's a double-button band. If you took it down to a single button, I think you'd be in good shape.

I'm back, after fifteen nights abroad - London, Paris, and Cornwall - mild, hot, and cool, weather-wise, respectively. I did some retail damage while abroad, the results of which will be filtering into this thread as time and weather permit.

Today's jacket is one of the items picked up on this last trip - Ede & Ravenscroft, and the fit is exactly as it was when I took it off the rack. It's cotton, and it got worn several times over the course of my trip.

Jacket - Ede & Ravenscroft
Shirt, trousers and shoes - BB
PS - Alain Figaret
