If I may go off topic, where to?
Out of all the things I loved about Buenos Aires, and there were so many, I think my favorite was this craft fair. We went back both weekends we were there on our honeymoon.
The beginning of this summer was surprisingly mild in Austin. Usually, we start our 100 degree days somewhere around early-mid July, but they held off thill August this year. But August is looking rough. It's been over 100 every day this week, and looks like it will be over 100 every day next week as well.
You remember about 5 years ago, the dry, dry year when we had something like 60 or 70 days in a row over 100?
You know, we use farenheit in the states because 0= quite cold and 100= quite hot, as opposed to celsius, where 0= a bit cold and 100= dead.
Also, LOL at "global cooling." Like, we get that something can get overall warmer, and that it means cool air gets moved around, changing some climates for the cooler, yeah? Global warming, local cooling, as I understand it.
Luckily, I like madras about as much as Viyella, so I guess I'm set either way.
I bet. During the middle of that summer, I flew into LA for a job interview. Got there in the morning and it was a breezy 75 degrees. Wanted to kick myself in the nuts when I got on the plane to fly back to Austin where it was still up over 90 after 10PM when I landed.
Yeah, I'm trying to convince my wife to move somewhere with a more temperate or at least shorter summers, but we've put down some roots here, which makes it hard to leave. I'd love to be in SF, though. Wish it wasn't so expensive to live there, because I'm pretty sure I could convince her to make that change.
