HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014) - Page 1605

Interesting-- I especially like the photos with jacket worn open. I still can't help but wonder what a brand with NO shoulder at all would look like on your frame-- suitsupply may get close, but Luigi Bianchi Mantova or boglioli unstructured jackets are more what I'm thinking

In relation to the collars, I am open to any criticism, maybe pointed collars would be more appropriate. Your views, please smile.gif

Thanks for the dick, dear

Yeah, but being a cock all the time makes people dismiss your opinion out of hand.

See, I used to feel this way. I still do. But some people are more interested in having fun providing criticism rather than having that criticism listened to. I'm not one of these people, but given how defensive people often are--though there are exceptions--I don't blame them too much. And in part that defensiveness might be a product of people being dicks when providing feedback (suggesting that they are less interested in being helpful and more interested in getting their internet jollies off). Sort of a chicken and egg thing.

Yeah, I dig that some people just like being assholes, and that's all they are really in it for. Okay. Whatever. That's fine, you know?

But this guy just specifically said that no one ever helped anyone else by coddling them (paraphrasing), intimating that he's trying to be helpful. I don't buy it.

But you are still right.

@mcobinad

First, that outfit you posted is excellent and displays none of the tightness of many of your others. It's an all around superb outfit. You might want longer collar points, perhaps not. Hard to tell, but in the last picture it appears that the points rest under the lapel. So yeah, perhaps not.

With respect, if you want reliable collar advice it's a good idea to provide a simple from-the-front photo with the camera horizontal at approximately chest level showing most of the jacket (buttoned, please) along with the collar and tie, arms hanging naturally at the side.  Nothing fancy.

Cheers,

It might in fact be too tight, but it is several magnitudes better than those skin suits he's always bursting out of. Otherwise, I quite like the beige, gray and green there.

^^^ you don't like it, the sprezzatura?  In reality, end of a long, steamy wet day in NYC.  I should have mirror checked prior to the pic.  I'd really be better off if I could carve out the five minutes in the morning to do this as opposed to the evening.

Keep going mcobinad. Jacket still way too small in the shoulders.

The combo itself is quality peacockery imo

It's a knit tie. Doesn't need to be perfect. I like it.
