Yeah I thought I was the only one who ever noticed that

The shy dimple is his sprezz imo, Not regulation, but wouldn't call it a fault. The button looks to be at his natural waist, pic seems to be taken from slightly below centre.

Thank you. Probably just needs some time getting used to :)

Sprezz or not, it still looks limp. I didn't call it a fault nor am I aware of a rule, it just doesn't look good.

Agreed, it looks weird and it'll probably take more effort to dimple a tie like that than to dimple it properly.

Bit of an experiment for me today. Was in a hurry for work and needed to be warm, so I threw together some pieces I hadn't previously thought to combine.

Oddly enough, it seems to have cohered into something maybe vaguely "preppy" or "Ivy", although not being American, I claim no real understanding of those idioms.

The tie is Ralph Lauren and the other elements hail from Italy, Japan and England. A true mongrel of a fit!

If I were wearing yesterday's white linen suit, the party in question would have been the Frick Museum garden party, and I always look better after a glass or two of Champagne.

It seems to be my fate to look as if I've dropped in out of a BBC costume drama from "before the War" (WWII, WWI, the War of the Roses, the Hundred Years' War - take your pick . . .)

Pretty good outfit, for an improvisation. In my humble opinion there is just two things, as with a waistcoat i think we doesn't should see the belt with a cardigan (Nothing, high waist trousers, suspenders). And maybe the tie shoul be a little bit more tight. Otherwise, i really like this kind of combination of texture and color.

You are right!

I guess it would look OK with most of my plain color suits, but I can't figure how I would wear it without a plain white shirt.
