Yes, yes...wear blue jackets all the time.

@heldentenor I think the red tie and the purple PS are doing this :fence:

I might have gone with something more like this... I think.

Good call, CM--what would you think about forest green square with burgundy tie?

I bet you it could probably work, but you'd have to be careful about looking like Christmas.

I combine olive and burgundy often.

I think olive and bluish burgundy goes together quite nicely. Forrest green and reddish burgundies are far more problematic IMO.

Hmm...Maybe light brown/dark olive is the optimal non-white square with red burgundy ties.  Preferences between these:

After a week without checking this thread I have had to do some serious catching up... many great outfits here but these three are superb to me:

There was some talk about tie knots yesterday and the one I used here is pretty interesting.  It's a half windsor/double four in hand which I've nicknamed the four handed windsor.  It's pretty much a half windsor, but then you wrap around twice like a double four in hand at the end.  It's petty asymmetric, but I don't mind.  I wear it with my longer ties to avoid tie penis.

The chicken scratch above the inside pocket is my signature.  The pocket directly below that is a pen pocket.  It's pretty much the best thing ever as a teacher.

@heldentenor it's hard to say. The tie looks like a very red burgundy from the pics but I don't know if that's simply the camera over contrasting the image. I might give the first square a try but I'd also want to be careful not to overemphasize the contrast by wearing another bright item. I don't know, maybe I'm going off the deep end. Just goes to show why reddish ties are so challenging though.

Thanks Andy, much appreciated. Yes, I should wear my others but this watch ticks all the boxes...

Sombre too, I would have to agree. I was working for Her Majesty today in Crown Court so took the time to breathe in the country air on the way in to the city

Very nice SS. I've given you shit in the past for your more 'out there' fits (although I do like a few of your flamboyant touches). This one is comparatively demure for your style but no less admirable.
