Heh, yeah. Debate has been raging all day about whether they are pink or more of a lilac :)

Hello, still new to this so I am yet to work out how to take good pics, with good lighting.

I think my sleeves are too long in first, and my trouser rise too low in second. Any other thoughts?

Or when I was considering more casual

Suit - corneliani
Shirt - tm Lewin
Shoes - meermin
Tie - prada

Sc - isaia
Same shirt and tie
Chinos - cos
Shoes - loro piana

Apologies if second should have been in mc wasn't too sure

Special thanks to Cotton Dockers for: a) helping me wear light colored squares; and b) helping me learn the bouquet stuff.

This is very nice already with the white shirt, but IMO pink does work well with a burgundy tie and navy suit.

Pics are a bit small, but I'll add my $0.02:

The first fit looks ok enough. Suit fits you quite well from what I can see, though both sleeves and trousers are too long.

Tie is not my cup of tea, but shirt/tie/suit combo work together even if it all looks a bit muddy, but I guess that's due to the poor lighting. If not, try adding a bit more colour: a light blue shirt for instance. Or add a PS, a simple white linen would already enhance the look.

How wide is the tie? It sure looks skinny compared to those giant lapels. And try to pull the knot a bit more tight, it will look better.

I think you should size down on your shirt collar. This one's too big, it makes for a slightly sloppy look.

And finally, change those socks to something darker. They look off-white to me and should never go near a suit. Generally speaking, you should avoid too much contrast down low because it will draw the eye downwards, whereas it should be led towards your face.

Second fit doesn't work at all, I'm afraid. The top half is too formal compared to the very casual bottom half. The SC looks suspiciously like an orphaned suit jacket and there's not enough contrast with the trousers. It looks too much like a mis-matched suit now.

Jacket looks dark grey and trousers navy, is that correct? Can't comment on the rise of the trousers, because I can't really see it in your pics.

There was a thread recently about wearing desert boots with suits, obviously some people like it (http://www.styleforum.net/t/474819/casualising-the-suit ) but I think yours are too light. Darker may have worked, but the type of shoe is still way too casual for the top half.

And those socks again... ;)

Anyway, not a bad start at all. Please keep posting!

I thought it was pink and really liked it....more than I do now that I know it's white. Really good either way though.

Interesting, I'll bear that in mind. I'm still recovering from the Great Australian Pink Shirt Craze of 2005-2008, although admittedly those were of the much brighter and obnoxious variety.

Like I said, I really like it either way. Can't wait to see some fits with the other new suits.

Thanks!

@ElliodA - Thanks for such detailed feedback. Yep you're right about the tie width, it's fairly slim - so from what I've been reading here I wasn't expecting it to receive a warm welcome, haha. I think it's due to the poor lighting but the shirt is a light blue, and the sucks grey(still too light I think).

Yeah I can see what you mean in the second, if you can tell - would it be ok if I had changed the shoes?

that's really really nice Stefan.  What is the make of the mohair blend?  Im thinking of getting something  in Tonik. (Dormeuil's)

What makes me hesitate is the lustre, which I find is a bit too showy for my taste, especially for the office,  but yours doesnt seem to have the mohair sheen at all, so Im curious.

That's an unusual pleat version, @Stefan88. Is the reasoning behind having the pleat starting about an inch below the waistband purely aesthetic? Also, great look!
