The pen0r was initially a consequence of convenience. I liked 4IH and I liked the end of the tie to hit my belt. But it's grown on me, and now I like it for it. I'd never start ordering my Hober's longer for that purpose, nor do I tie my ties to achieve that effect, but when it happens, which is more often than not, I find I am happier with it than I would have been without it.

You like patterns/colors and you have an eye for it, but every piece you wear doesn't have to be in your face, When the top is loud (shirt/tie), keep the bottom quiet and vice versa. When you are as good as you in wearing patterns/colors, its easy to want to wear 4-5 patterns in one fit. Keep it to two max and you'll find balance with the earth.

Thank you for the compliments.  I layer because the temperature in my school and classroom is always in a state of flux.  In any given hour it can go from 60 degrees to 90 degrees.  I end up putting on and taking off layers through the day.  I was aware of the loudness of the shirt, tie, and pants so I wanted to wear something to silence the loudness a bit, thus the solid jacket and vest.  I didn't consider the texture of the vest so much as the color.

I have been trying to limit the number of patterns I wear in an outfit.  My outfit from Tuesday and Thursday have one and two patterns respectively.  I don't think I'm ready to do it everyday though.  Note that my outfits from Monday, Wednesday, and Friday got more thumbs than the Tuesday and Thursday outfits.  I guess I'm not doing it right.

Great to have you back!

That last fit is off-the-charts, even by your standards.  I wouldn't set much store in the number of thumbs.  I'm certain they have only a vague relationship with the 'right'-ness of the fit.  They're more a function of your general likeability, IMO...  + reciprocity,  the amount of passing traffic, the tastes of that traffic, who else is posting, the alignment of the planets and other mysterious forces.

Yes, I think so, too.

And here, navy tie + navy jacket is just too close together. In fact, switch ites in the two outfits and you're golden; both times, the tie helps to connect top and bottom.
