On tie-tucking,

Agreed, it's not ideal. I had however forgotten how long this tie is when I put it on (and I can't be bothered to change it when I've put it on). It works with lower rise pants, but I'd rather tuck then have a long tie penor. I mainly posted it because I liked the colours/fit of everything else together. I obviouslydont think a tucked tie is that much of a deal breaker if I like everything else about an outfit, but, you know, as they say, YMMV.

Really nice! Only thing I'd change would be the shoes, to something less formal, like a suede monk or loafer. The shoes themselves are gorgeous, but imho better paired with a suit.

Agreed. I thought of that, too. And then decided to wear them anyway. Haven't worn them for a long time and felt like doing it.

I'm going five for five with grey suits this week. No description, as one or more pieces to this ensemble have come from less-than-stellar sources.

Don't worry, knowing what would be best and not doing it is one of the most human things one can do. lol8[1].gif

Every time I have read the term "tie-tucking" come up in the past dozen posts I misread it as tie-fucking. A new way of showing adoration for ties? Stranger things have happened. Cf. creepy sartorial images thread re: shoes.

O c'mon Crust, tell us all. The fit looks nice and who cares about the labels? Show us that great style can do something nice with whatever life hands it. (Anyway, you have nothing to be scared of as no one is judging ☺)

Exactly! If you can look good with 'non SF approved' labels like Jos A Bank or whatever, then extra points!

It's often said that a well fitting well tailored 'cheaper' suit can look infinitely better than a poorly fitting 'haute' brand, and I believe this to be true.

Very humble and grateful for the thumbs yesterday.

It's still rather chilly here in the nordic, and I think I just saw a polar bear lurking around this morning. That's why the tweed.

The bruise is from the last close encounter whit the white king. I'm sure we will not see him again.

Jacket, trousers, tattersal - bespoke, Whitcomb & Shaftesbury
