I love knit ties. I have 1 each of burgundy, black and navy knit from sozzi and I could probably get by in any situation with those 3.

Tie is a lil askew, but it was 11pm, and it was a long day.
Special thanks to Jeff & Zack at the Armoury for finding this square. Did anyone else score something from their NYC sale?

Noodles and Steeeeeetch need to have their heads examined. That's a good look, Clags.

SB, I find it almost impossible to judge your fits with these outrageous filters. Way too distracting... (Great suit though!)

Interesting. For me, this filter abstracts the background such that I am the only focus. It's better than the previous mosaic filter, no?

In any case, until my house renovations are complete, this bedroom shot is really the only viable option, and I don't really care to share the details of our detritus. smile.gif I'll keep trying different filters.

Each of these items seems quite elegant individually, but I think there's an issue of scale between the shirt stripe and the jacket checks. I'd prefer to see a solid light blue or possibly a very pale beige/eggshell shirt, and let the jacket, tie & PS patterns do the talking.

Scale is too similar? confused.gif

I tried a pale blue but the color was distracting. I have an off-white shirt that may work, though. Good idea.

Mind you, the above critique is from a man who rocks ties like this one:

So it's entirely possible that my opinion is not to be trusted.

I love this tie. It is my favorite from this board so far.

I understand both points of view, but for purposes of this thread I incline towards sugarbutch's.  That is to say, I see his background as somewhat less distracting from the fit than some of the scenic shots we often see here, and less likely to cause people to evaluate the photo rather than the fit.  Mostly, though, the burden falls on the viewer to focus on the fit.  YMMV, of course.

Cheers,

To my mind, when it comes to SB's filters, it hits on the opposite affect stated above. They make the whole picture look so odd that it might tend to make someone think the fit was worse than it actually is. the tendency to evaluate the picture rather than the fit goes both ways, good and bad. The best thing to aim for IMO is a balanced photo of what you are wearing in a real context. I'm not claiming to be the best photographer is the world, but that is what I aim for anyway.

Are you freaking kidding me, brah? You gone say I need my head examined and then think that your photo blurs are actually enhancing you pics? LOOOOOOOOL

No but srs, I said it was a good Clags look, I just would have liked a normal pointed tie there. Also, Yeah, I think this blur was the worst so far. I think the pixelation was the least distracting so far. But, Id still rather these than no pics if thats the position construction puts you in.

---

UC, once again, excellent. A little busy with all the patterns, but I like it, and I think the scale variation was on point. It was actually inspiring for me, and now I want to try a neat tie, drakes print and a striped shirt, with my PoW, after seeing that fit.

Thanks for teh inspo!

SB, since your aim is to make yourself the only focus and you have to select your silhouette in Photoshop (or another photo edit app) anyway, why not fill in the background with plain white?
