So I have my excuse to not diet and exercise to much then, Thank You Sir :)

Great outfit, Cleve!

Though I'm sure there will be some mavens here (Plinius sly.gif) who might suggest that the ears be let out just a bit.

Is this yours? I love VW busses. I had one in college and recently attended a VW vintage car show that has rekindled my interest. They ain't so cheep anymore.

You can easily scavenge one from the cliff base along the Croatian coastal road. You'll have to hose the dead hippies out though.

Dead hippies? I thought they were inextinguishable, like roaches.

Nah the good ones stick around so the world doesn't get overrun with moral compass-less capitalists.

I don't know, you go to good enough parties and you start meeting hippies without moral compasses.

You mean like this one?

^^

Nah, man, the Dude abides.

'Course, have an actual dude wearing a robe all the time and living on my couch was less entertaining.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Actually, the thing I like about that movie is that the Dude is really a wily guy, and is a rare example of a character who manages to find the same hero's path that Gilgamesh once walked. He is a self-contained individual with a sense of right and wrong (unlike the Big Lebowski) who is still able to navigate society with aplomb, unlike Walter, whose frustration with society and its restrictions drives much of the story's conflict.

Thanks for the kind words gents. Shame that I had to go for an OTR Scooby Doo, I thought the collar was a little high, still anything for the laugh shog[1].gif

The VDub is a '72 model, previous owner had done some bodge work so it's a slow process. Not wholly mine. The rear seats/beds have just been done, so very comfy now. Lots of work to do and now under wraps again for the winter. Surfing trips to the south coast planned for the summer nod[1].gif

Inspect very carefully for hippie residues. They could be worth a lot. I heard Tom Ford incorporates hippie residues in some of his Private Label fragrances.

Coming from a town populated by many actual hippies, I'm always amused at how the term is used to describe people within a broader and broader set. Living on the east coast now, pretty much anyone vaguely counter-culture is a "hippie."

How do hipsters fit into all of this?

They're both of the (hip) set right?

Hipsters want to be perceived as being ironic.

At this point in history irony is overrated.

Cheers,

The iconic car of the hipster is a bike. Ain't no one cleaning off hipster residue for a bike. Do you have any idea how long they go before washing their jeans?

I'll refrain from posting pictures of myself in cutoffs on a SS bike.
