Home from church.

Behold! The bow tie. (The word, "behold", popped up a lot in today's Scripture readings. 'Tis a pity that we don't use it in every day conversation.)

All your posts are great. This one, IMO, is one of the best. There is a power in its simplicity.

Gentlemen, how did you learn to match colors, patterns, and textures? I've never in my life seen a collection of well dressed people like this. I can't believe at one time I thought a polo was well dressed, or the rule to never mix more than 2 patterns was written in stone. You men put "attractive" Brad Pitt and Tom Cruse to shame.

I hope to learn quickly, so every purchase is a good one.

I follwed this forum daily for five years....not saying I'm great at it and I usually don't do many patterns, but stick around and you'll learn a thing or two.

Maybe.

You really need to wear darker shoes with black watch, and I'd say a denim shirt is too casual for black watch trousers and a DB blazer. A white linen square would've been nice as well. Otherwise, I quite like the outfit.

Maybe not.  I agree that the shoes and shirt are casual for the jacket and pants.

It may be a suit jacket.  I have no way of knowing.  Suit Supply makes sport coats and suits in this peak lapel 3/2 roll configuration.  It has a nice texture to it though that will help it work as a sport coat IMO.  It is not a flat worsted fabric, but it is grey so I understand the orphan vibe.  Orphans need love too.

Thrifted this Suit Supply sport coat today.

I wanted a sports coat like yours and the best I could thrift was a Land's End. 48% wool, 52% silk. I am surprised there is silk, it looks like wool and has more texture than the picture shows.

I'm wondering if this is a keep or return? No experience with Lands End. It fits me very good. I've made worse purchases when I joined SF and didn't know better, including a fused brown Hugo Boss with no personality I will donate.

This thread isn't the best place for such questions, but I think it's a keeper.

noob questions, don't want to interrupt (Click to show)
@An Acute Style, how many sports coats, blazers, & country jackets do you own? I'm reading this thread from newest to oldest post and I love sports coat after sports coat, and decide to thrift it when it's available. If I thrifted every color pattern I like, I'd need to convert a large bedroom into a closet to have space.

I love a warm earthy red windowpane, then love emerald aqua windowpane, then love powder blue windowpane, it doesn't stop.

Seriously, Nordstrom would have record sales if they hired this crew as models. I haven't felt this urge to buy everything I see since I was 5 years old at toys-r-us.

Edit: Sorry, just saw the above. I'll post questions in the noob thread. I didn't mean to interrupt the flow in this thread.

Put this in spoiler tags to minimize
