Loving the tartan trousers here! I'll eventually ask my tailor to make one of those for me..

Speaking of six pattern bingo: Jacket, pocket square, shirt, tie, pants, socks, watch strap.  Lucky seven.  The color of the pants and jacket match very well in my opinion.  The pants are brown/cream houndstooth.

Also, I've really about had it with these pants.  I can't stand the messy bunching at the bottom (see spoilered pic).  They just will not fall straight.  I don't know if it's just the fit or the leg opening, but I'm tired of it.  I'm thinking of slimming the legs and putting some kind of cuff on it.

Terrible pant drape. :( (Click to show)

Wonder if the drape of those pants is twisted somehow -- like the fabric is off the grain by a few degrees.

I like it otherwise, though maybe a solid knit tie would help things along?

@An Acute Style a chocolate brown wool or cashmere tie would lift that fit higher. But this is coming from someone who isn't that skilled with patterns so take it with whatever measure of salt.

Quite possibly.  Thanks.

Agreed.  I have a dark brown wool knit, but I think it is too narrow for these lapels.  I also have a darker brown wool herringbone tie.  I picked this one because the lighter brown seemed to be closer in tone with the pants and jacket.  I'll try a darker tie next time.  Thanks for the advice, guys.

Really digging your fits lately.  It's not just your new svelte silhouette tho..  you're going for more understated combos too.

I like the jacket AAS but I'm getting same color top and bottom on my monitor here.

A contrast collar isn't really appropriate with a an SC either.  Mind u I hate them with a passion so I could be making that up.

The jacket was the last thing to go on today.  I actually was unhappy with the variation of texture in the jacket and pants.  I really liked the lack of contrast between the jacket and pants though.  I agree about the shirt being a bit too formal for the jacket, but I'm a fan of the contrast collar shirt.  I'm surprised you like the jacket given how low the gorge is.

I feel like this is always going to look  'Not a suit but pretty close'.  I'm trying to moderate my bigoted gorge-ist attitudes.
