Sorry for no introduction in the intro thread but I feel that this will fit me better. I am 6'6 and about 225 pounds and a college basketball player. I have a very difficult time finding clothes that fit my sleeve length. I am around a 7 foot wingspan and even some tall sized sweaters and shirts from places like J.Crew do not fit after one wash. I currently wear a lot of J.Crew, Eddie Bauer, and Brooks brothers for their relative affordability and clean look. I was just curious if anyone, tall or informed, could point me in a direction for some decent streetwear for tall people. I am trying to revamp all of my wardrobe. Mainly, I would like to get a new closet of jeans and shoes but everything needs an overhaul. I am open to any clothing styles and suggestions so lets hear what you all have for me. I am excited to hear from people that are into style as much as myself.

Welcome to the forum. Stick around and do some searches; you'll learn a lot.

I'm 6'5 200ish, with size 15 feet ... I know how hard your life is. Here are a few suggestions on basics to start. You'll probably get more constructive feedback the more specific you are about what direction you want to take your style.

Jeans: APC has quite a long inseam if you don't shrink them. You'll probably want APC Rescues.

Polos: Le Tigre is usually long enough, as is Burberry and Ralph Lauren Tall sizes. You may need to get them altered.

Cheap blazers: H&M slim cut, if you're near an H&M store that carries the 'H&M men' collection. You may need to get jacket sleeves lengthened by an alterations tailor -- no biggie.

Button down shirts: go to big and tall shops, buy what fits you in the sleeves and shoulders, then have the waist altered down. Or, read some of the many threads on custom shirts on these forums.

Suits and dress wear: if you can afford it, MTM (custom made). Trying to shop off the rack almost drove me insane, even at big & tall shops.

Shoes: zappos.com, onlineshoes.com, theshoemart.com, shoes.com, oddballshoes.com, endless.com, shermanbrothers.com I believe all have search by size features and many have free two-way shipping, a godsend for those of us with odd sizes.

Miscellaneous: get a measuring tape, get to know your exact measurements well, and learn to surf eBay -- all kinds of stuff to be found.

Most importantly, find a good alterations tailor.

awesome info so far! Thank for that. It seems that I have vastly overlooked the possability of having shirts that fit me in the sleeves and shoulders and having them slimmed down in the waist. I will check out those jeans as well.

As far as shoes, I am in your same predicament with size 15 shoes. My pant size is a 36 x 36 so that is tough to find as well.

Any more people have any info? Styles they like? I am open to anything at the moment as I am looking for a new or "updated" direction in my current closet outlook.

I'm almost the same dimentions (6'6", 225 but with a 6'10"ish wingspan). I've found a lot of good deals on ebay. Most of my jeans and shoes are from there, with the exception of the occational pair of pants from the forum here. Jeans really arent a probelm as most higher end brands talked about here have at least a 34" inseam, which is fine for my jeans. For dress shirts you could try Jantzen if you know your measurements and don't mind waiting a little while. I've had luck going to stores like Winners and TJmaxx, but you really need to hunt to find something good. As the previous post said, find a good tailor. My brother who's 7'1" and 235 lbs has a MUCH harder time finding clothes, so comparatively I have nothing to complain about.

Also, if you go to Superfuture's forum, and search for Ande Whall, he makes custom made jeans. My brother has ordered a few in 40" inseams, and they are really nice. APC's also fit him, but he has to stretch them out after a wash. Earnest Sewn also have a 37" inseam I believe. I need to cuff mine so they dont drag.
For shoes, ebay is awesome. I have no trouble finding my size 14's, but for a better selection Eastbay has also been good. I wish I could be more help, but I'm still struggling with it myself.

imperial denim comes in a 37 to 37.5 inch inseam. i have no experience with it, but it's got one of the longest inseams in the business, and has gotten decent reviews, i think. it is about $260-270, though. http://www.contextclothing.com/brand...ndigo_king.php http://www.selfedge.com/shop/index.p...roducts_id=186 and there's always levi's - you can probably find a 36x36 in the preshrunk stuff. edit: you might also want to try some of the cheaper custom shirt brands - land's end, janzten, etc. shirts start at $45-50+tax and shipping and go up.

I'm 6'5" but not as built. Still, finding clothes that are long enough can be a problem.

APC jeans are generally (just) long enough. The New Standard jean would probably fit someone that's 225.

Dior Homme jeans are also long. The "21 cm" version is the more relaxed fit but is still very slim and cool looking.

Marc Jacobs Collection clothing usually has very long arms and legs and fits me well. It's very expensive but they have great sales at the end of the season (70 percent off right now).

american apparel is good for t-shirts. most of their newer shirts are really long. i'm 6'6'' , 210 and their larges fit me perfectly. you'd probably want XL as they do shrink considerably.

for jeans, i'd agree with APC, Andy Whall, Dior Homme, and Imperial. All of them have good lengths. APC being the cheapest of the 4.

I am 6'8 and a half and a slim build.

Standard Levi's 501's 34 x 36 fit me. I've tried on a pair of Emperial denim and they did fit very well.

As far as jeans go, there have been a lot of RRL slim fits on ebay around your size. Check out the actual measurements on any of them near your size since the sizing is pretty random and you could score a nice pair of jeans for ~$50.
