For one I refuse to buy ANY pair of sunglasses with non-polarized lenses. Second Oakley lens are just the best in my honest opinion. Their lenses are scratch resistant, oil resistant, they have the best polarization in the biz, plus the fact they have every shade and mirror type available on almost every pair of sunglasses they sell. They also have like 200 styles of sun glasses from plastic to metal and everything in between, so casual or upscale you can find some good sunglasses by them.

It does suck that rednecks also love Oakley, and have somewhat tarnished the real style and elegance of the brand.

Yeah but never mind the laundry list of features on paper, have you actually looked through the lenses carefully? I know for a fact that my Oakleys distort, and even some of my GFs trashy fashion brand glasses have superior optics.

I wear the Oakley "Pitch" with G30 (pink) lenses for golfing, they are hideous but very good on the course with this lense and depth perception.

I do not wear sunglasses otherwise, but I do like the look of some of the Oliver People models.

I'm not big on buying sunglasses from anyone who made their name selling women's clothing. Doesn't make sense.

I've worn some Oakleys for sports and like them the best for optics. I like the titanium hingeless Maui Jim and Silhouettes for comfort.

Don't buy any of that Oakley crap. It looks like you're about to jump off a plane.

Oakley doesn't only make lurid sports glasses. I wear these http://oakley.com/pd/4855.

There are plenty of glasses that will suit for style, but I have never tried any that come close to Oakley for clarity and total glare reduction.

That said Oliver Peoples are much nicer than Persol from a quality standpoint, the frames, lenses all materials are simply a major step up from Persol.

I agree somewhat, although the Persol sunglasses marked "handmade" are really really nice.

I'm not much of a sunglasses guy but when I think of Oakley sunglasses what comes to my mind are Baseball players, Golfers, Army/cop types, or salesmen who coincidently have the Bluetooth head set in ear, and the Large Smart phone/blackberry clipped to their belt. I say Stick with RayBans.

The brands is no frills, not ostentatious and makes a variety of handsome designs.
