Huge Borrelli bargain waiting for size 38 shopper in Boston

I almost pulled the trigger on this one, but didn't.

There is a NWT cashmere Borrelli sportcoat at Filene's Basement on Boylston in Boston available for just under $420 after promotional discounts. The regular price, according to the tag, is about $3,800. I would describe the fabric as a gold colored herringbone. It's size 38R, flawless and beautiful. The sleeves are unfinished, with the buttons in the inside pocket.

If you're going to buy it based on my tip, please don't do so in order to flip it for a profit.

Enjoy!

Damn, thanks for the tip. I was going to do some shopping tomorrow, and now I'll be swinging by there. No profit flipping here =) By the way, I never realized Filene's carried Borrelli quality brands.

Filene's has carried Borrelli for a while, but they only do at certain times per year. However, when they do have it, they usually have some amazing deals, which included a sportcoat last year for $150, many shirts for $40, and a navy suit for $360 (although the suit was a in a 36S).

Oddly enough, the exact jacket is available used on eBay (through the Chinese stilmacher-like seller) for $550: http://cgi.ebay.com/BORRELLI-jacket-...QQcmdZViewItem

That jacket is a tough sell at $400, that's a tough color to work. it's a bright summer color in a winter fabric.

I didn't see it today, but I wasn't surprised since I got to the Filene's closing sale kind of late in the game. I think edmorel is right about the color and fabric, but I would have liked to find it today and had a look. Thanks again for the tip Mike.

Don't confuse Filene's dept. store and Filene's Basement. Filene's (now defunct) carried crap, it was just under Macy's in quality. Filene's Basement, however (still around) has the good stuff (from time to time). They get their goods from all over, whereas the regular store just got their standard fare from their distributors.

If you went to the Filene's closing sale at Downtown Crossing, you would have missed it, since it was at the Filene's in Back Bay.

I love it. The cashmere part doesn't mean much though in terms of being a winter fabric. I have one that is super-lightweight from borrelli and I wear it all the time in the summer. It's not like their heavy winter ones at all.

Yeah, like it's gonna be there after four years. Have fun. Honestly, do these idiots go back 1000 pages into the archives looking for this stuff?

Yah, no way they still have that kind of deal these days.

What is it with you and resurrecting old threads? You just don't seem to care.
