there was a thread here a while ago and i remember the poster said that they did not like shirts with pockets. I see some nice casual shirts but it has a pocket in the front.

Would that make you not want to buy it anymore b/c of the pocket?

I might still buy it, but it would make it a substantially easier decision if the were pocketless. I can not find any possible reason for shirt pockets.

Personal preference and mine is without (pockets). It wouldn't keep me from buying a shirt though.

It depends on the style of the shirt and the style of the pocket. I don't like single pocket shirts of any kind, but I do like double breasted pockets on safari and military style shirts.

you should definitely have pockets, you can carry around wetnaps to wipe your inner thighs when they inevitably get dirty

Depending on the value of the shirt, and how crazy they went in sewing that pocket on there, you may want to buy it and remove the pocket. I have had success with about 14 shirts in removing pockets. I did, however, have to trash one shirt when I wasn't careful enough with my scissors. I find that the pocket is very useful when going to Costco, and I'll need to have my card handy at checkout and again when getting gas, though that's the only time I ever use it.

okay what if its a casual long sleeve shirt. I see one that is good and is from JCrew. Do most of you cut the pockets off by yourself or do you have someone professional do it if the shirt is worth a lot to you and you dont want to make a silly mistake and cut it badly.

I would never base a decision to buy on whether or not it had a pocket. that's crazy talk.

I would not cut off the pockets if you already bought it. Just buy shirts with no pockets from now on. Sounds like you didn't even notice this before the recent thread.

the thing is this shirt looks real good but it has a pocket and there was a big thread about people disliking pockets. Of course i want that shirt without pockets but they don't sell it like that.
