I have not discerned an agenda beyond proving beyond a reasonable doubt that many key stitches of Kiton clothing are done by machine.

I don't understand why people defend clothing companies as though they were helpless people. Kiton is not the last tailor remaining at a Savile Row establishment founded in 1700 or a one-man shoemaking operation. It's a large, multinational corporation founded in the '60s that has about as much to do with "artisans" as Nambe or Waterford does.

Also, insinuating that people who question the "Gospel" of some Italian marketing firm are just jealous because they can't afford it smacks of either nouveau-riche insecurity or, more likely, a desperate need to believe that every penny spent on a $5,000 jacket is manifest in the piece itself and not (partially) wasted on a name.

Can we tie this in with the bickering over Alex's shirts? Then we could make SF implode.

Hell no! The last days of Rome came much later than that. I am Septimus Severus.

So, we are all agreed that Kiton is far from a true handmade garment and, as a company that now has bought into its own press clippings, that they do little to set the record straight.

If you want to see the real thing, well, at least, now you know where not to go.

And throw in the Iraq war, sourcing Vass shoes directly from Germany and anything mafoofan disagrees with.

For the record, I really don't give a **** who handsews and who uses Asian ******* or who uses pre-industrial machines. I like what I like and if Oxxford or whoever the tailor du jour is make the most hand intensive garment, I'd still be wearing an OTR Borrelli or Isaia. I've seen some bespoke jobs here that I would not wear for free. I don't understand the hard on for Kiton/Borrelli's manufacturing claims, heritage claims etc.

Rolex claims it takes a year to make one of their watches, lets start an endless thread discussing that.

If I've offended any purchasers of my goods, ignore everything I said
