As for pore strips, like Biore, don't use those too often (maybe once or twice a month), and use them at night before going to bed and use a very light moisturizer afterward to stop your skin from getting irritated.
There are skin blotting papers especially for this purpose.

+1. I have big pores on my nose, and I started just using a light cleanser (Cetaphil is fine), then following up with any toner that has salicylic acid. Just look for the 2% variety as the active ingredient. Usually, it says something like 'for acne prone skin,' etc. I'm not an acnoid in my 30s, but my facial pores are still big. This stuff helps that. It's a pretty simple fix, actually: blackheads come from having large pores. Salicylic acid just shrinks the pores, keeping your skin from becoming a grime trap. Try it for a week or two and see how much the pores shrink. BTW, for things like this, you really don't need to go drop 20 bucks on a tiny tube of 'for men' crap. $4 at any drugstore will get you what you need. Just look at ingredients over brand.

Queen Helene Mint Julep masque, is excellent. Very inexpensive, available at Walgreens, or Dollar Stores. Really sucks out impurities in the skin. I would suggest as well, an exfoliating sponge. Available at Beauty Supply houses. Use the sponge with your favorite cleanser. I like Pears Soap. You may want to try an exfoliating scrub, too. QH Oatmeal and Honey scrub, is great.

i have tried a lot of stuff. for the past three months i have been washing my face with dial bar soap and a wash cloth. the cloth works great, i have to do it everyday, nonetheless it works. wet nose and face, lather soap in hands, apply to nose and face, lightly scrub nose and face, then rinse.

out of all the $ i have spent on neutrogena and products alike, this works best for me and it cost less. just don't scrub too hard or it will irritate the skin.
