Following the "I've heard" method, I've heard much the same thing - there's the historical archetypal divide in Europe along Northern/Protestant/milk-and-beer-consuming areas, versus the Southern/Catholic/water-and-wine areas. Throw in the traditional use of garlic in Southern European cooking, and it should make for a difference. The only groups I've smelt sufficiently to have some "empirical" notion about, are Northern and Southrn Europeans. There is a difference - say, sour milk versus garlic.

Words can't DISCRIBE your tirade, either. In any case, I'm sure the Indians wouldn't mind seeing you go.

Indians, especially the ones that have left India, are more critical of their B.O. than the ones that have remained in the Motherland.
