Bluefly polo cordovan chukka boots

Just got these. Very nice shoes. Fit seems a bit narrower than other shoes I've bought recently (Alden, RLPL, Peal & Co. Sargents). Seems like a lot of people here have ordered a pair of these boots.

I just got them, too. They're really nice. I find them narrow in the heel and instep. Is that your impression?

I am kicking myself at missing out on them. Out of my size.

That's exactly my impression. I'm hoping it will loosen up a little bit as I break them in. Sizing aside, they are really nice. I think they're bulky for suits/slacks, but should look really nice with chinos and jeans.

Just got mine too. They'll break in fine - no different in fit from other C&J shoes. I think these will be great in the Fall with jeans.

one other comment, I find the vamp a bit tight, but I'm assuming that after I wear them a couple times it'll all work out. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

By the way, what are your plans for shoe trees? Any thoughts?

I thought the shoe tree thing would be a bit of a problem, but it seems like most of the support in the heel is at normal shoe level anyway, so I'm using a regular tree.

Just got mine this morning, and I have to say that they're just beautiful; the leather is gorgeous, the burnished brown finish is stunning, and the workmanship is top notch. And, even though they have a Dainite outsole, it's so unobtrusive as to be hardly noticeable; I don't think you'd automatically peg this as a rubber-soled boot at a casual glance. As far as fit, the only complaint I have is that the left boot seems a bit tight on the widest part of my foot, but I don't think it's enough to be a problem; if they don't relax a bit within a reasonable breaking-in period, I'll bring them to my cobbler and have them stretch that spot a bit. And I agree with arced that the vamp seems a bit close when you first put the boot on, but I don't find it at all uncomfortable once they're laced up. Thanks again to everyone who responded to my previous thread about these, and to johnnynorman once again for deciphering the secret code that allowed me to justify grabbing a pair after all... In case you're interested, I opted to go with the size I'd normally take in a cordovan shoe on Alden's Hampton last; 9 1/2 D (actually, there wasn't a choice of widths on bluefly; the boot just came in a "D" fitting). The fit turns out to be very close (with the exception of the slight tightness across my left metatarsal (sp?)). All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase, and look forward to getting my next pair of C&Js (the Weymouths).

I, too, received these about six weeks ago and they are beautiful. I was and continue to be very impressed with the quality, and I have worn them about 10 times including several days pounding the pavement in Washington, DC. They are very comfortable and I find them to run to the wide side of a "D" width. I have very flat, slightly wide feet, and the fit is superb. The heel is somewhat narrow and I have plenty of room beneath the vamp on account of my fallen arches. I also ordered the 11.5 and compared the two, before deciding the larger size was too roomy. I have not one regret. I highly recommend these to anyone that hasn't a pair. Regards, Jeff

Boy, you guys keep rubbing it in. They are out of 11's, and I am still crying about it.

These deserve a nomination for official shoe of Style Forum, on market share alone. Mine arrived today. Nice shoes. A couple of minor nicks in the shoes from what looks like sloppy handling/packing, but nothing I can't live with for the price. I got 10.5s and they seem fairly true to size, especially compared to the RLPL/EG Whittakers, which seem to be a half size larger than marked. I think that any "clunkiness" is the extended welt. I probably wouldn't wear these with a suit on a formal occasion, but you wouldn't look like Paul Bremer for doing so.

Just got my pair - they are spectacular. A bit tight on the left, but not enough to be uncomfortable. Love the narrow heel, which is my hardest fit area. I'll be wearing these a good deal this fall/winter with cords, jeans and chinos.
