I do want to point out that this is pretty much the Vanson Derby Jacket...here's the the jacket being photographed for the new Vanson website...the overall "look" isn't as stylized as what fashion folks present, but it's pretty much the same jacket... We would just want to get folks sized properly! Alternatively, we could create something new...
The real question is whether the body itself would need to be adjusted to have straighter cut. The jacket won't need to be optimized for riding, so excess leather through the shoulder could be taken out.

Huh. I wonder what makes the latter pic a more generic leather daddy stuff compared to the one above.

I feel the same way hence why I liked what I saw in the junya one due to the fact that it doesn't look like your run of the mill cookie cutter leather body armor.

Marketing! It's all about what the seller and buyer "do" with the jacket...how they wear it...do they have style, whatnot...

We can slim any Vanson design down, but we do have to account for the fact that once we do that, it will fit fewer Style Forum members...

It's all styling. What we now call designers used to be called stylists. There is good reason for that.

IMO if you don't slim it down, very few people will buy. Even the more athletic members won't be buying these to ride bikes for the most part.

This. I am probably in the middle of the pack, but I do have pecs and lats. Still don't need any space in the back. Would prefer a slimmer cut through the chest and shoulders so that it fits perfectly from day 1.

We should get you a standard fit in size 36 to see how much to slim the standard Vanson fit block down...for what it's worth, here in Seattle--a pretty trim and stylish city--we don't get many wanting a slimmer fit than standard, Here's me in a size 40 modified CHP (I'm 6'1", 195 lbs in the photo). I don't pretend to be very stylish, but few want to go tighter than this...

I definitely don't want or need the belt. I would size down from a size 38. No way I could wear a 36. I have worn my business partner's size 40 Vansons, and they are just a bit big for me. The real issue is that they made me look like I was wearing hockey pads.

For the Vanson "Rocker" Jackets, size 36 =s size 38 Aero Fontana Racer. Key to Vanson is sizing down...that's what Japan and designers do...a Large in Junya x Vanson =s size 40 Vanson.

Alright. I'll be the guinea pig. I fit many sample sizes, so I'm probably a decent personto be the fit model.
