I have a question about goyser welts - does the stitching need to be redone when resoling? Can any cobbler resole a goyser welted shoe? I'm deciding whether I need a topy to protect the sole

The goyser stitch attaches the welt to the upper and a separate stitch attaches the sole to the welt. Any competent cobbler should be able to replace the sole but you might want to look into having Vass do it. I know that's what I'm gonna do

@arahat Could you please also add the Osloer for me...

Shouldaville: Osloer, Size 43.5, Antique Cognac Shell Cordovan, single leather sole, 5 eyelets 4 speed hooks

Thanks

Arahat - many apologies but after some soul searching, I will like to change my interest to the 2 following:

Staffer18283 - Italian model 117, v-cap oxford, U-last, museum calf, leather sole + topy

Staffer18283 - Double Monk with a punched captoe, K Last, black calf + leather sole + topy

Done, cheers.
Done Montecristo905, cheers (I assume you meant Italian model 62 for 1 and 2.).
Please note though that bordeaux shell cordovan is not readily available with Vass. You may have to settle for antic cognac shell or oxblood shell.
I will keep everyone updated on the wait times for shell cordovan besides current shell colours of black, oxblood and antic cognac.

@Ironist, it would be good if you choose one of the style that someone has already detailed.
It is true that there is quite a variety in the group buy.
Naturally it would be to everyone's advantage if we kept variations to a minimum but simplicity aside, it seems a little limiting to have an absolute limit of 3 styles for such a large group buy.
I highly encourage repetitions of styles/options already detailed in the list.

Current Vass group buy list

Thanks for the info. I listed model 52 because I like the look without the non-wholecut piece of leather at the back of the shoe (I am not sure of the technical term for this)....just to clarify

1. Bordeaux cordovan in style 62; if no cordovan, plain bordeaux ...exactly as pictured

2. Style 52 (no back patch of calf) for the museum calf brown. Brown calf to be selected without too much 'cloudiness'...if not possible, construct using dark brown calf

3. Oxblood shoe should be model 117 but not with v-cap but straight line brogueing not V

Thanks

Hi all,

I'm definitely in on this, browsing through the Vass Porn thread for some final details. Quick question, would it be possible to do a balmoral high boot but with a completely uncapped plain toe?

Thanks very much.

Hi velgador0, in the OP in this thread, the first 2 photos I posted shows a plain-toe balmoral high boots in crocodile (vamp) with a black calf shaft.
I am sure Vass would build you a plain-toe balmoral high boots. I have included the photos again below for your reference.

I'd like to add myself on, tentatively, pending pricing (incl. shipping to Perth, PayPal etc) & delivery time info.

I'd be in for a U-last wholecut in bordeaux with double to single tapering soles OR Model 71 (Old English on U-Last in black)

Thanks

@arahat My size for both is 41.5, please add double leather soles to the chukkas.  Thanks!

I've changed your orders as requested. Please note that Vass does not provide a detailed price break-down in group MTOs.
I can help you estimate what your options contribute to the final cost if you like.

@mrbig Added the model 71 order. PM sent.

@Christopherj Done. Thank you.

Anyone can advice on the width on f last? Are they e or f?

Reason I am asking because I am wearing 42 on width e and 41 on width f.

Better size probably again before deciding to changing my size or not?

@arahat is it possible to change last and size at the later stage when we got the quote?

Cheers!

@arahat

Please, I would like to replace my current proposed design with the following:

wklq76a - Austerity brogue blucher high boots, size 43.5 F last, (TBD) shell cordovan, double leather sole + metal toe-taps, 9 metal eyelets

wklq76a - U-cap (no medallion) windsor high boots, size 43.5 F last, (TBD) shell cordovan, double leather sole + metal toe-taps, 9 metal eyelets

Thanks so much.

I think I’ll do a completely plain toe balmoral high boot without any broguing, U last, size 43.5, 5 eyelets + 3 speed hooks, dainite sole, antic cognac shell cordovan.

Although I saw someone mention something about Vass not doing cordovan high boots anymore in the Vass p0rn thread, is that still the case?
