Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but can someone comment on the difference in leather used between heritage brands like Vanson and Aero (say fqhh or comp weight cow) compared to luxury brands like saint laurent and rick (say oiled calf)?

What you'll find is that the latter brands have heavily corrected and thinner leather...some people really like it...  Vanson and Aero's leather, while still corrected a bit, has a more natural grain and finish...both Vanson and Aero use leather that is quite thick...packed with oils!  On the most expensive (expensive not necessarily equaling best) side of  things, we have full grain leather and that isn't corrected at all, which allows for the leather to maintain the majority of its natural strength and luster...  Some people love full grain leather while others prefer top grain like Vanson and Aero...

Thanks for the info, do you guys carry any full grain stuff? Would definitely like to see a picture if available. And when you say on the most expensive side of things, do you have a brand or brands in mind? Hermes perhaps?

^^^Please hide shots above for full grain, veg. tanned hides.  It's really nice stuff!  We don't know what Hermes carries...

How much would an Aero Sheene be with Horween CXL FQHH vs Italian horsehide?

Ya those do look pretty sweet, it's a $300 up-charge to the Vanson DR and moto right? Will there be enough left by the time we get to the moto? If it's still available then, I'll probably be down for a moto in the black or russet.

Base price on that for Italian Horsehide is $1299.99 USD...

What will be on top of the base price? 1299 is just a 100 upcharge from the normal Sheene right? That sounds pretty reasonable to me.

The base price for the Aero Sheene is $1,099.99, so the Italian hide adds $200.00.  The base price of $1,099.99 goes for most of our Aero styles (more complex jackets like the J106, Thunderbay, Hudson, etc. are priced a little higher).

Here's the Aero J106, a beautiful reproduction of the classic D-pocket motorcycle jacket.  This style can be specified with shoulder gussets or a full action, depending on what the customer prefers...

Do you have a picture of a jacket made with this kind of leather? Or even better, a well used one?

We're having the first jackets made at Aero this coming week...the response to this full grain, veg.-tanned leather has been amazing so far...we've already taken more orders for this than CXL for July production!  However, we'll get photos up when the first jackets come through...they should be pretty nice!
