So I just received my 18Montrose order (ordered on 28 Jan).

- I got 3 out of the 5 items I ordered. They charged my PayPal on shipment, so I had an idea I wouldn't be getting the full order (they only charged for the 3 items).
- Order was packed well.
- Got charged VAT (I'm in Hong Kong). No replies from them re: VAT refund.

The on-sale pricing was excellent and I was happy with what I got - I wasn't in a rush to get them. They seem like a place that is almost entirely focused on their B&M operation and deal with online orders in their spare time - the items I got all had pen markdowns of pricing on them, so it's likely from their floor stock.

I would order if I saw good on-sale pricing again and wasn't in a rush to get whatever I was ordering, but I wouldn't order from them at full price - definitely isn't a Mr Porter-type slick operation.
For whatever reason, they are pretty active on social media, answers phone calls, but never answers emails... Reviews of their in-store experience seems to be good from what I can see.

How are you guys calling 18montrose? It's international and standard cell phone plans don't cover that I don't think. Is there a free phone app?

Not being cheap I just phoned them. Buy a phone card if $3 will break you.;

Wait for a sale on phone calls. If you wait long enough, they get marked down to 75% off.

I'll only buy the phone call when it reaches 90% off.

I haven't really looked into cost of international call but I always assumed it was like $3+ per minute. Sounds like it's cheaper than that.

Maybe I thought this because my co-worker forgot to turn his company phone to airplane mode when traveling overseas and got a bill for over $10k

Yeah it's weird how the world doesn't end at the US border.

My point was I didn't want to have to wake up early and pay $15 to $20 bucks to call a store when it's not that big of a deal to me if they fulfill my order or not.

And I probably assumed the call would cost way more than it actually would.

So you'd rather lose what one must assume is an order worth far more than a phone call, but ultimately you are willing throw away the order rather than try to figure out how much a phone call might cost? Nothing like be perpetually stoned or stupid.

That's surely due to data roaming, not calls (unless he was all day on the phone).

If I really want something I will buy it at retail or when it first hits sales (30% off) if I think it will last that long. I don't even know how the item I bought fits and I don't really need it, I have enough clothes. I probably just bought it because of the price.

And yes my assumption on the price of an international phone call was totally wrong. $3 is nothing.
