That definitely plays a part for me as well. When local places have 10-20% off it's essentially just bringing it down to the price of other, non-Chicago locations.

Price and return protection only work for purchases inside the U.S.

Recently got stuck with a Wings+Horns non returnable item and am out of luck because they're canadian

Huh. I called my cc and checked about this and the person I spoke to said there was nothing in the terms that specifically said that the lower price had to be denominated in USD. And there's nothing in Citi's terms that say the lower price has to be from a US store. (Or that it has to be a US purchase, for that matter.)

Oops didn't know Citi had that perk. I was talking about Chase Saphire Preferred and Amex Platinun

if youre talking about citi price rewind program, it cant be an foreign shop (non-US in this case).

source: i filed one before and got rejected bc it wasn't a us shop

A foreign shop with the cheaper item or a foreign shop from which you made the purchase? Since I made the (domestic) purchase partially because I had been told by a representative that there was no such restriction, that would be pretty annoying.

the purchase was from a foreign shop but id imagine it works both ways... or can you price match a foreign store if you bought it from a domestic store?

tbh these programs never really mean much to me since its either 1. ask for an adjustment from the store directly 2. item was already on final sale/price

combine that with added cashback from various sites and cc points, its hard to complain

---------------

sorry about the OT discussion guys. lets get back to discussing donuts

I find the discussion quite interesting. Not like they're going to make an individual thread or pm each other.

Meh, nothing stays on topic 100%.  That is not a discussion.  It's a community, after all.  If you want to get the sales only, I create lists of consolidated sales and post them.  Here, subscribe to this: http://www.styleforum.net/t/524515/summer-sales-2016-all-the-stuff-thats-fit-to-buy-codes-updates-etc

That said, I would say, as I do to everyone, to "uncurate your life".  I firmly believe that something important is lost when you try to be too efficient with your life.

Customer service is paramount as are the buys.

I'm not surprised about csc as they were not great at either. Add to that insanely stupid nyc rents, I don't know why anyone would open a shop in that area.
