It is blacked out, I didn't need to pay above typical msrp but in the long run I like the fact that it is different from most other CG's. Also it matches my blacked out luggage which I like. Small detail but I feel more satisfied with it than a pile of stuff I don't wear often that I got from MrP/TheCorner/Yoox so on for X% off.  Fits slim as well if anyone was curious.

Bought this for a relative who was looking for a parka, wish I'd bought it for myself. At $350 it was a bargain.

I own some other Spiewak Golden Fleece outwear, it's pretty good stuff.

Thanks. I was on the verge of ordering the fatigues from Indigo and Cotton for $180. Glad I waited.

Because sometimes it's better in the long run to not make a sale, then to condition your customers to expect a day or ridiculous deals.

With 90 days of up to 70% off who the hell is going to buy from SSENSE at regular price?

People who want the really cool stuff before it sells out. Maybe not all at full price, but plenty of their best buys sell out before they reach 70% off.

Yesssssssss and I said UP to. Plenty of "cool stuff" was involved in the sale. No reason to ever pay full price from them. They've made themselves the Walmart of higher end online shops with this silly sale.

Very few people.  But they need to right the ship, and it appears that they might signaling that here.  A lot of other retailers seem to be taking on that painful and expensive task.

Put it this way.  They are not going to lose you as a customer because of that.  They are going to lose you as a 85% off customer, who is virtually worthless to a retailer.  If they ever decide that they need to liquidate stock, you will still be there, since you are price motivated.  They would much rather cultivate the customers at full price or even at 30% discount, since those customers tend to be more loyal for a lower discount and better service.

unless they find a way to limit the increasing number of stores available to consumers, carrying the same items, that is a recipe for disaster. stores can't set prices. the brands are what dictate what consumers are willing to pay at this point. there are very few brands that can handle not going past 30% off, and only a select number of items from those brands. what stores offer such bad service that you're willing to pay an extra 5-10% for this so-called "better" service? returnable vs final sale is a selling point but I'm not too sure what else. most of these high end stores provide quite adequate service.

I will always chose Matches over Oki-Ni or LN-CC for example. Shrug, it matters - when the price difference isn't overwhelmingly significant, I'll support stores that make cool buys and/or have good service. Sure it's nice that lots of places offer returns on sale stuff etc., but that's just not feasible for smaller stores and boutiques. I'll also buy directly from boutiques if I have an SA I like.
