Salt selection was a little less diverse than last time, but more optical models and some good finds. 65 sun and 45 optical, but Faulkners, Dawsons, and Ledfords were 30.

Did you notice any Leyton or Harlan models?

I don't think they had Laytons. They didn't have any Harlan suns like last time, but they had a couple opticals. Got one in black for my mom.

For all of you NYC Folk, Linder at 128 Thompson street as a great sale going on. Lots of outwear and sweaters From Tender, Etudes, their own brand, Homecore, and others at great prices.

They are also trying to clean out stock before the sale ends this weekend so everything is buy one get one .

Definitely worth the stop if you're looking for some sweaters.

I think they had the tea colored ones, or at least something similar.

Capogiro made a push for it a few years ago (could buy its pints in NYC and they even did a pop-up) but then retreated. Shame, I really love their gelato.

Huh, I didn't know that. I've never been much of a gelato guy, but I like it that they have flavors like salt and avocado.

The best coffee I've ever had is from Jack Mormon Coffee Co in SLC. They roast by the pound, only to order, each day. They also only brew by the cup on a Clover. You can order online, too. The Kochere Yirgacheffe, Bella Carmona, and Cuarenteño are off the hook.

Cache Valley? I would assume pickings are slim. I work a couple blocks from Jack Mormon but have never tried it - I'll give it a whirl. Have you ever tried other Salt Lake roasters? I mainly buy La Barba and Blue Copper. In a pinch I was once forced to try another SLC roaster, Cup & Cardigan, which I had avoided because I hate the name, but found I really enjoyed their Bali roast.

I actually decided to ditch the Keurig in my dorm room this semester, and replaced it with the random tools necessary to make (or attempt to make) cold brew.

Pros: obviously the taste is a lot better, especially when I just drink it black

Cons: has a 12-15 hour wait time, so it requires me to think in advance for once

Just wondering if anybody else does this, as I'm trying to get the proportions just right.

Also, any suggestions for whole bean dark roasts? As I mentioned, I drink coffee black, and so the stronger the taste, the better.

Thanks!

Huh, I hadn't tried any of those, although I have tried SL Roastig Co, which is okay. You should definitely try Jack Mormon.

Yeah, I am in Logan, and Cafe Ibis is pretty decent considering how small Logan is.

When does Frans Boone have sales/how steep do they go?  End of season with slim pickings?

Their sale is usually after holidays and after summer; this past sale was actually decent and not too slim pickings but their core, awesome stuff sells out at full price typically (or always seems to).

Btw, I think they have just the best stuff and always have an eye on their site
