No, I understood your point, but I specifically clarified because the way your phrased it leads to erroneous statements, like the one above.  Most shoppers do, in fact, exhibit loyal behavior.  The language though, makes it seem the opposite.  "Loyalty" is like like "I love X and will keep on going there."  It's mostly just conditioning through habit.  You can "feel" loyal to one merchant, but actually exhibit more loyal behavior towards another.  For example, I might be a proponet of one merchant, but when asked by a friend, who needs X in a very short time, I might just say "Meh, just Amazon Prime it", because their speed of shipment and ease of return has prompted my behavior, rather than just some unquantifiable feeling of "I want to support X merchant."

anyone got any tracking info from the unionmade archive sales yet?  it's almost a week and the charges have already been posted on my credit card.  when i called them, they said they haven't shipped the items and may take over a week to ship, if they actually have the stuff still. 

 

is this the general experience with unionmade?  charge before shipping and don't really know if they even have the stuff in stock?  i've had two previous orders from them without any issues.

They get crushed during the sales. Just be patient. If they have already charged you for the full order you're probably getting your items, it just takes awhile for them to ship everything out.

I placed 3 orders the first day of the sale. I received tracking for my 2nd and 3rd order the same day, I just received tracking for my first order on Monday. I've ordered from the archive sale thrice times and haven't had any problems. Two orders will arrive tomorrow, the 3rd is scheduled for Monday. In your case I'd say they just charged your card and don't actually have the stuff they just want to hold your money for a few days. 

 

my order times were: #1 7:30AM, #2 7:43AM, and #3 8:22AM. You would think, but perhaps it doesn't matter the time the orders were placed that they are fulfilled in order.

They always charge fully then see if they have stock. On a side note I see you are in California, if they don't have stock make sure they refund you your sales tax. They have refunded just item price before.

Just like another store that used to be an affiliate here that will charge you and not even refund your out of stock items until you email them and ask. And they don't even know what item was out of stock when you ask for your refund

Are we doing down the "I refuse to pay retail for anything, but wonder why brands get dropped/buys suck" rabbit hole again?

PS Unionmade sale season always brings on a flurry of awful mishaps/experiences

I've had a pretty wide range of experience with the UM sale - I've had an order cancelled and credit card charge cancelled because apparently they couldn't verify my billing info, I've had orders goes through fine and stuff ships out a few days/weeks later. My favorite one is where I had my order cancelled, my credit card charge cancelled, and then had my order show up at my door unannounced a few weeks later.

yes, yes we are

and my stuff shipped pretty quickly, but I ordered fairly early. Still waiting for it to show up though

Ordered last Thursday, got my items on Monday.

thanks guys for all the replies.  i got the idea. and by no means this is to start of a rant session.  i was initially a little shocked how dysfunctional they are and wondered if such sustained dysfunction will run them out of business.  but now i realize it's pretty much par for the course compared to many other similar stores and they're thriving just fine..

 

now we can move on to other sales. thanks again.
