Yeah you could say something along the lines of ... 'I could just return it, buy it again with the code and be done with it. It's simpler for both of us if you just refund the difference'. They don't need to know about the sleeves.

I tried to get a price adjustment but they refused! Great way to annoy your customers.

If they'd refunded the difference I'd have used it to buy something else in the sale, but now after a really frustrating experience with their customer services I feel more inclined to look elsewhere for other purchases.

End has notorioulsy bad customer service - their strength is in the breadth of their inventory - not in their CS.  That said, their policy on price adjustments is specifically laid out: 

 

The item I bought is now in sale, can I get the difference refunded?

As an online business our prices change in accordance with trends, customer demand and stock availability we are, therefore, unable to refund the difference in price when an item you have purchased goes into sale, although we do appreciate how frustrating this can be.

You can of course return the item for a full refund and then re-order the item at its markdown price, provided it is returned in accordance with our returns policy. Please note, we cannot guarantee that another customer won't purchase this item first.

 

and  it's not fair to ding them on that, imo.

End does suck in general. I'll only ever order from them if it's something I really want, with the expectation that I will most certainly pay duties.

I find it more interesting when there is no exclusion list. That way you're only considering things you actually wanted anyway and not items based on them being included. There was no exclusion list in answer to your question. I have noticed recently that most codes exclusion lists seem to be growing even from past codes for the same sites.
