I don't know. I guess all it means is that Matches is willing to take a fat loss (on sales items anyway) if it builds them a stellar service reputation. Or maybe they're only offering it for a while to break into the American market and plan to change their policy later.

Just ftr, I didn't skip this to make things sound worse than they are but because I doubt this route would get me anywhere. But maybe I'll look into it, who knows.

You'd have to return the item to the USA to get the taxes back, and you're not planning on doing this. I still believe the easiest solution for items pruchased at discount is to put them on eBay.

Yes of course I understand that - I am not planning to return them to the US because I'm afraid I'd have to write off the duties+taxes. But perhaps I will try to get info from Belgian customs as to whether there is a way of recovering the amounts from them if I return them to the US.

+1 though on taking care of this through ebay.

opening ceremony is up to 70% off

Barneys regular up to 75%

Looks like they are pulling everything down from the Mr Porter sale.

How often do mr porter sales of this calibre come along?

I've gone overboard but am very content with my purchases. It's a shame I bought a bunch of stuff full price last month.

Waiting for the UK markdowns...

I ordered an EG Shop Coat from there.  Fast shipping (granted they are in SoCal which is where I live).  Free return label included.  I had a good experience but first time shopping there for me.

Have ordered twice to Europe. First time was a pair of Alexander Wang trackpants which I had to return because they didn't fit - refunded without any problems and prompt communications when I e-mailed them when the return appeared to be stuck at JFK.

Second time was a Raf Simons scarf which I kept. Again, prompt service and no problems.

I just got a EG long linen shirt for about 110$ shipped free in 2days w code " tulip " stacking on sale for 60% off. Nice packaging, free returns.
Ide say thats a nice experience.

Yeah they are an awesome store. Same day delivery to LA is now available too. There is always at least a 10% code. I used 'tulip' before, but yesterday I placed an order with code 'candy' for 10% off (item was already on sale, too). There is a 15% off code for use with the iPhone app that's been around forever, but I couldn't get it to work yesterday.

I also appreciate their EG styling... Generally much different from other stores.

I thought this seasons Mr P inventory has been some of the most uninteresting I've seen since I've shopped with them.

No argument some of the discounts on the USA site have been pretty stella. I just hope the UK Sale brings out some old stock gems at the end.

Their Sale's are every 6 months.
