just about bought them until i realized they were navy.. ended up with some other navy achilles before, thinking they were black..

The leather for the shelltoes is different from the Achilles - it's a slightly waxy leather. I have a pair of hightops in black (wearing them now, actually), and honestly, the greys, which are everywhere, are slightly cooler, unless you are really wedded to black chuck-a-likes. The navy, or, more aptly, midnight, are a really deep blue that looks rich. I figure that if I'm going to be the asshole that wears leather Chucks that cost 10x as much as actual Chucks, that I may as well mix up the colors a bit.

They're also way less comfortable than normal achilies. I have a pair of the grey captoe, and they are hard and quite uncomfortable. Not sure if they break in, since they've been at the back of my closet after the 1 time I wore them. Normal achilies are some of the most comfortable shoes I own though.
