You won't be seeing any MP sales until around June unless you're a founding member. That sale usually goes on around mid to late May at 50% off everything unless otherwise marked. Then they wait about a month till they let the public in on it and the sale is usually 30%-50% and slowly gets discounted further until stock is mostly depleted. They also bring back past sales and push to 70-80% Some great deals can be had if you're patient. It's not really worth it unless you're a founding member or wait till the very end when stuff appears from returns, etc. I personally jumped the gun last sale and bought everything at the first discount and should have just waited till the very end as most stock kept coming back up.

Yes, it's worth waiting. A lot of stuff on sale.

FWIW, I find that fewer and fewer things I want at MP make it to sale anymore. I mostly just buy at retail.

dieworkwear - are you able to discern any wisdom from the unavailability?  For example, do you find certain brands or specific items to disappear (like, cashmere sweaters, etc)?

The way that I've been able to grab some great stuff (CPs, Drake's, some good denim, T&A shirts) is by sheer luck. I don't expect to find anything, but check back randomly. Every so often they'll post something that's been returned or new sale additions and I'll snag it up.

on mrporter permanent ad new season items mared wnt go on sale, otherwise its a good sae and like any other site good stuff goes quick in a few mins for popular sizes of popular items.

often they send the email notifications like 3 hrs late, if theres anything you truly want hit it when it gets 30% off, dont be cheap and wait for 50-80 and complain when you sleep on it

Just depends on the popularity of the item. Lots of CP and MMM stuff sells out before things even get to sale season. Niche lines, like Blue Blue Japan, or mainstream labels, such as J. Crew or Gitman Vintage, will make it to sale. You just have to make a guess, I suppose.

Maybe it's in my head, but I think a lot of Mr. Porter's stock doesn't make it to sale, and if it does, it's only like 30% off and you have to wait until the end of the season. I think they still have really good things during sale season, but if you have your heart on something and suspect it might be popular, it's not like other stores, where you can count on discounts. They just get too much traffic, and a lot of their customers (I suspect) aren't deal hunters.

balmain givenchy etc usually start at 30% and slowly, MAYBE go to 50+ but not the good stuff. if you can give us a bit more of a hint of what you're looking at, it would be easier to say

If you're a normal size and it's something you want, just buy it.

I think you're right about that

The best time to get really cheap CPs is when Park and Bond does their clearance sale. Everyone should just hold out for that.

Plus, if you sign up for their newsletter you can get a coupon for an extra 15% off sale items.

I usually buy my CPs from Active Endeavors, Hejfina, or Blackbird
