Well considering it says "test" I would assume they are simply testing the Facebook function, and there isn't actually any kind of offer.

For future promotions, I recommend they take out the instructions "show this e-mail to the website".

Well, they still owe us something even if it was just a test!

The best thing about it was the photo in which McNairy looks like a grumpy little gnome down in the corner.

What is the quality on these shoes comparable to? I haven't heard of this brand, is $300 a good deal versus Meermin, etc.?
Also, are the sizes US or UK?

I emailed the company asking if they would be able to compare the leather quality and construction against carmina. Here's the message that I received:

Uppers - same level materials.....in the case of calf its even the same tannery though suede they use the English suede while I use Zabri (Italian) suede

Soles - same weight and quality (Carmina will appear heavier but that's due to the welt, not the outsole) as far as I have seen.

Construction - big difference since they are welted and these are Blake. Carmina are heavier.....these lighter in weight and appearance.

Wear - outsole wear about the same, I would assume. Maybe Carmina would have a slight edge here, but both are resoleable.

Feel - Carmina.....heavier, more heft, stiffer.....this shoe lighter, flexible, sleeker look.

I got a pair of the Rider Ottawa boots from Need Supply back in the day:

They're indestructable. Didn't realize they were such fancy pants with all the formal shoes.

Ron Rider is old school.  @RIDER has been a member here since 2004, and he started his company while he was on the forum.  We got to see that develop right here.  He's a real old hand in footwear.
