Guidi rarely goes on sale anywhere. Furthermore, our pricing is already the best I have seen for brand new Guidi anywhere in North America.

I meant no insult--as I've said many times, I think Suspension Point has one of the best buys out there, and it kills me that Fuuma already bought the size 4 Colonial Cardigan, or I'd be all over that. Just out of curiosity, is it Guidi's policy to not let retailers have sales on the product? Or is it something about how well they sell at retail/the margin on the item that makes them never go on sale?

You shouldn't if they state that the country of origin is the US (although you never know), but Fedex will still surely charge you brokerage fees.

It says Made in USA on the item, so I am pretty sure. What range are those fees in?

Lmaozedong: No insult taken in any way, shape, or form. I was simply clarifying. There are certain labels (though not that many to be honest) that have an explicit no sales policy. These are usually difficult to enforce and are sometimes bound by sales area / location. In other cases it is simply an agreement / suggestion that retailers abide by as it ends up working out for them and the designer. With Guidi much of the it has to do with the non-seasonal nature of their core product range.

I work for a company that does this. It's pretty difficult to do. You also can't enforce it in any way other than to refuse to sell to the distributor if they don't follow your policy.

In the past I worked in retail selling high-end audio/video systems (Wilson Audio, Wadia, Mark Levinson, Conrad-Johnson, etc.) and I can say some manufactures, generally those that occupy a specific market or utilize a specific technology or have proprietary products, etc. can demand that retailers do not mark down there products.

Personally, I think it's BS because instead of the market determining the retail price it is set by the manufacture, which often results in a much higher price to the end user. On the flip side it allows retailers to make full GP on their goods and they don't have to worry about bottom-feeders price shopping.

But yes, it can and does happen in all sorts of industries.

Well I'd argue that the market still determines the price - if people don't buy it they'll eventually have to drop prices. I'm indifferent to the policy myself - if I think something isn't worth the price, I don't buy it.

Next drop is 60%, so unless you want something really bad I'd wait for that drop or 3rd drop at 70-75%. Get the item numbers of stuff you want as it may not be online after first drop but will probably be in store
