This just popped up on my google reader, and it looks to be quality craigslist
http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/clo/994821956.html

I am in no way affiliated with the poster, just thought others might be interested.
Just be wary of posters on CL willing to ship, not an outright offer to proxy, but if you want me to ask the guy to come to mine and legitimize he has the stuff I can do that.

MAC in San Francisco is having an insane sale. Bought a Jil double faced overcoat (London) in dark blue for $499 (was $2100), shirts are $125. Nuts. They also have some great Adam Kimmel, like a super soft jean jacket lined in super soft flannel and with a super soft cashmere/cotton corduroy collar for $200. Lanvin silk Pajamas for $185!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have to make way for the future.

Apparently Polite Society in Seattle is going to stop carrying men's clothing (kind of sucks; I liked their men's buys better than most other stores here, even if they were a little weak the past couple of seasons). Everything they have now is supposed to be 50% to 80% off. They had some decent Rag and Bone and Helmut Lang pieces when I stopped in the day after Christmas. It might be worth checking out.

^ I was a little disappointed by the news as well as it's one of my favorite places in the city, but it's completely understandable seeing how much is left on their racks at the end of every season. Eric's menswear buys were always hectic and lacked any sort of overall focus (plus he'd often drop lines frequently, which was always frustrating from my perspective as a customer).

Yes, I imagine it's in store-- for now, at least. I just got the e-mail this afternoon.

Obedient Sons is having a RSVP-only liquidation sale, it sounds like. I will unfortunately be out of town, so don't ask me to proxy. But do report back if you go on how things are priced. All there other sales are always expensive.

-----
If you were particularly hard hit by the news that Obedient Sons and Daughters was folding, you'll be somewhat consoled to note that next Thursday and Friday, January 22 and 23, the designers will be selling off samples from their spring '09 collection. The event, at 110 Greene Street, is open to the public, but you have to RSVP"”email [email protected], and do it soon, since spaces should go fast. [Racked Inbox]

Went in today, lots of Helmut Lang jeans, a handful of Rag and Bone shirts (sizes 15, 15.5, and 16 iirc, might have had a 17)

^ Also a good selection of Jean Shop denim as well. I only picked up a rag and bone long sleeve t-shirt though.

Visited my boy at Fred segal Man in santa monica has tons of ervell and nom left it's ridiculous, all 50 off. I think he said he'll do more if you buy 3 things or some **** wasn't listening. Coated peacoats, tons of m65s, lambskin collegiates, blazers, jeans, beanies it's stupid. Also has some geller I believe, prps and sns herning which is actually really dope. Sale is through next weekend and after that no more.
