And if you have a pending fee, Fedex won't hold any of your future packages until you pay for them?

A creditor doesn't need your SSN to report you. It just makes it easier for them.
All they need is your name and address.

i agree. i think if you are going to buy an luxurious item that may have an associated tax, you shouldn't count on avoiding the tax by ignoring it.

i really don't mean to sound like a self-righteous person. I hate being taxed as much as i hate death.  but seriously, if you want a $500 jacket and are willing to break the law to avoid paying the appropriate custom, you have a bigger problem in your life and you probably need help.

this said, thanks to the forum for letting us know there might be a huge hassle/tax attached to ordering items from some foreign retailers.  i almost pulled trigger on over $1000 worth of stuff.

don't agree with that. it's a calculated risk. they probably just judge that risk differently than you do. i've never done it myself, but it sounds like people who ignore the customs fees don't see the threat of repercussion as real.

you could use a similar train of logic about watching movies/downloading music online without paying for it, or speeding. these are all small/very affordable costs with potentially large consequences for non-compliance, but the expected consequence is de minimis. so we do it anyway for the benefit of convenience and money.

i respect your opinion.  but to continue your train of logic, ignoring taxes/custom fee is more like being caught speeding and being issued a ticket and hoping our broken legal/court system won't chase you down (many are successful).

your analogy is the same as ordering from end and hoping end didn't file for custom.

don't want to drag this out, but the point of the analogies is that willfully breaking laws doesn't necessarily mean that you "need help." we all engage in technically illicit behavior to some extent, based on what we judge the (probability-weighted) repercussion will be and your personal risk appetite. people who choose to avoid customs fees simply have a different assessment of and appetite for risk. one guy might be comfortable ignoring a speeding ticket, while another is afraid to jaywalk.

blah blah we make our decisions and face the consequences. let's see more sales.

Strange how the taxes thread always wants to infiltrate the sales thread.

does anyone know if End or Eastdane are going to have further reductions?

Extra10 for additional 10% on sales items at tbs

I believe east dane already added more items to its final sale category.

They might have one in in the next few weeks (right around when it hits 90% off?), but by that time, chances are, 100% of everything you'd consider buying will be sold out.

Does The Bureau usually go -70% or something like that after this -30-50%?
