Will add you to the me-no-likey column. Truth be told I'm not a fan of most of Tricker's line, especially the shoes. I own a pair of STP's not-Stow Stows. I find it a more esthetically pleasing boot than the Burford - see here: http://www.styleforum.net/t/222454/trickers-at-sierra-trading-post/330#post_5043687 (scroll down to post #336). The Burford certainly has its fans, but due to its mass I find it's too much pebbly. I think a large, scotch grain boot needs a design element, which I why I picked up C&J's Islay.
Anyway, my post was to KevinArnold, who finds McNairy's plain scotch grain attractive yet doesn't want to spend $450 - I'm not a fan of the red brick sole. The Burford is a very similar boot at 2/3's the price.
goddamn i was looking at the picture of the boot through the zoom and thought "this is one ugly pair of boots", so plain and dumpy looking, then i glanced to the right and saw the name and they were trickers
im not suprised at all...... hope this trickers fad passes soon, just because the rest of your outfit is top notch (thanks to styleforum) doesn't mean you can spice things up a bit by putting on an ugly pair of boots
