Official Sales Alert thread - Page 2039

I would just use Suddenlee for any NYC based stuff. 15% maybe makes sense if you're going to the sale anyway. I don't think he's going to the sale for himself.

Still not worth the effort for $15

i would completely agree its not worth the effort to go just for the sake of making $15 in frigid cold; i wouldn't do it myself.  in that case he could have just said no and moved on. but broadcasting to the forum as if someone just ate his dog is not an adult move. not cool. just saying.

god proxy begging posts are the worst

Meh not a big deal, lets move on. Some people like to help others out and some people are busy and value their time. Depends on the community I guess, SF is big enough to have both people. When I was shopping for a vintage car I've had strangers on forum drive 30+ minutes for a promising car, give it a full inspection, take pictures and videos, and sent me their opinion on it. Saved me hundreds of dollars in plane tickets and buying a lemon. Good peeps online icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Yep, I didn't mind proxying about 4.5k worth of shit for free from atelier even though I was offered at least a 5% commission. I'm a real douchebag because I don't want to go out of my way to go to a sample sale for 15 dollars. smile.gif If I think you're a good dude, I'll go out of my way for you. If not, too fucking bad for you.

Atelier is cooler than Isaroa

Or it was...one of them is still in business lol8[1].gif

15% is more than fair percentage wise, but you have to think in terms of what the pay off is worth to someone than just on a strictly percentage basis. Even if you offered 99% on a 1 dollar item I don't think anyone is going to take you up on it...

Proxying is a huge pain if someone isn't already going to make the trip for themselves as it not only means making time to go somewhere, trying earnestly to actually get the item requested and then there's shipping. Dealing with shipping along makes me pretty uninterested in selling anything including stuff I never wear... I don't think I'd proxy anything for anyone for less than $100 dollars if it meant going out of my way in any sort of way. The exception being for anyone that's proxied for me before then I'm definitely willing to reciprocate even if it means dealing with all the hassle I outlined.

I've always offered 5% or minimum 50-100 dollars at the bare minimum depending on what I'm after.

Is there a sale thread on here? I somehow landed on the "proxy problems" thread.

Damn, y'all angered a lurker who just wanted another coupon code to stack.

Vultures want codes on a silver platter.

Just had the most disappointing experience with Atelier.

After being reassured again and again they had set aside my item for me while someone else 'will complete the transaction', i submitted a few more inquiries and wanted to buy another item.

So I decided to get another jacket and suddenly receive this email saying sorry, I'm afraid we sold the first item you wanted anyway.

I know this is a closing sale but really?

I don't see anything wrong with it, you can't "set aside" items. You can get a reply an item is in stock, ask for a paypal email and pay as you receive it. After payment the item is indeed secured and they can't sell it to anyone else.

I did ask for a payment method and agreed to buy the item twice-to which he replied yes, thank you, I will keep it on hold (while I looked around for others).

If they dint want to just put the item in a backroom or anything, why give the impression of doing so?

Well, they are closing down...

Probably in there best interest to avoid any hassle and go for the money in front of them, sad to say.
