Luxury customers have never had more to spend. Coincidently, I bet it's a good year for Old Navy too...

Yes- horrible irony. Wealth is accumulating at higher concentrations at the top while the majority of Americans and Canadians are making less and less. A lot of these children of rich parents have absolutely no perspective. A quick glance at StyleForum is strong evidence of this.

I'm pretty sure most of the 'snob' on the forum is satire.

50% Back and Lots of Miles from Neiman Marcus Through Noon Central on Tuesday

Nieman Marcus is often referred to as ‘needless markup’. But they have an uncharacteristically good, stackable deal that you can take advantage of only for the next several hours.

Here’s how a $200 purchase from Nieman Marcus earns a $50 rebate, a $50 gift card, and up to 3900 miles. For many, that’s better than 50% off.

If you have an American Express card, log into your account and under ‘Offers for You’ (next to ‘transactions’) you will likely find $50 back on a $200 purchase from Nieman Marcus. Click ‘Save offer’ next to this offer.

Mentioned both on the Nieman Marcus website and on the AAdvantage shopping portal, promo code GC4YOU gets you a $50 gift card when you make a $200 purchase. This is only valid through noon Central time on December 3 (Tuesday).
The AAdvantage shopping portal is offering 12 American Airlines miles per dollar spent at Nieman Marcus.
And the gift card promotion code GC4YOU is specifically noted as stackable with this offer in the terms and conditions. Promotion or coupon codes often invalidate mileage-earning, but in this case they are explicitly combinable.

So a $200 purchase earns 2400 miles.

In addition, if you haven’t already maxed out the holiday shopping bonus from AAdvantageShopping, then a $150 purchase earns another 1500 miles ($250 total purchases through the portal earns 2500 miles.)

This post is an amazing confluence of style forum, fatwallet, and flyer talk.

Polo is having a 40% off sale in store only today.

Are Polo Ralph Lauren shirts as good as they used to be? Or is that the lower end brand?

So you haven't spent down-payment-level money on a curved nail?

If Neiman's coupon calculus isn't difficult enough here's my 40 minute ordeal with the purchase I just made. First placed the order online, after giving all my info including cc the site informs me the item's out of stock. I start an online chat with a rep who claimed their warehouse would be getting more in from Peter Millar in two weeks and that I could go ahead and pre-order from them. To finish my pre-order I called Neiman to give my cc info again instead of a chat window as the rep requested initially. The rep tells me on the phone the coat's been discontinued and whoever I was chatting with was wrong, interesting. She apologized and then I ask if any physical retail locations still have in stock. Gave me a list of six stores "should" have it with three possible sku numbers. First place I call had it, located it on the rack for me no problem to ship directly, started giving my info over for third time. Then rep puts me on hold, different person picks up and asks me what I'm ordering and asks my info for fourth time. Mission accomplished, I hope.

And so much for my $125 rebate that prompted me to buy in the first place.
