Customs is a crap shoot.

Some days the customs officers are on the their game and some days your package may go in front of an officer that drank too much the night before and is sending everything through without checking it.

Websites are not a definitive guides as to what will happen with your package.  They are more of a perfect world se

I've only paid customs on one knit that was a little over $300 with shipping and it was around 45 from ups. I've dealt with ln-cc, wrong weather, farfetch, tres bien and ra-shop and I've never had to pay customs for items that I paid under $200. Maybe your right about customs only one I thought I might have trouble with was wrong weather but I emailed customer service before ordering that I've heard bad shit about them marking things wrong. And since then I've had nothing but good things from them. Out of every webshop they have the fastest shipping and processing orders. I think it helps emailing customer service prior to your order, it only takes a couple minutes and saves you for any future hassle.

I think about it this way I was a server in a restaurant and if a customer had a certain concern about their order prior to me putting it in. I can only imagine how much more of an annoyance they're gonna be if there's something wrong with their order after I serve them.

That's my advice if you're really concerned that your going to have to pay for customs fees because I seriously doubt that these companies process hundreds of orders a day.

I dont email asking if they could lower the value. Its illegal for them to do it and I would not want someone to ask me to do anything illegal.

From my limited knowledge I have come to the conclusion that value of the package is the value the sender declares for insurance purposes.

I have bought items from END at a discount only for them to declare the full purchase price and the price they shipped it to me. They even did this when I got free shipping. I know shipping is not free but are you as petty enough to declare the shipping you paid.

I only ask to get a since of how the firm operates.

It's ok to ask in my opinion, just don't throw a fit or bitch about "poor" customer service when they aren't willing to do it.

I never said anything about asking them to lower the value but actually valuing the item properly.

Cruise are having a 12 hour flash sale on footwear http://www.cruisefashion.co.uk/mainline/mens/footwear/sale

A lot of tat but some not bad deals on Mr Hare and MMM if they have styles that you like. I picked up a pair of Mr Hare Millers with a leather cap toe rather than a patent for 60% off.

Was waiting for this sale to happen. Unfortunately, I've been disappointed in their selection of Gitman shirts so I ended up nabbing the W+H sneakers in white.

I was hoping they'd have the hi-tops in black, but no dice.

LOVEJCREW for 25% off at J. Crew, for anyone who wants to buy stuff from J. Crew.

Just started today at Cole Haan stores (at least at the Boston Newbury store):

All the Lunargrand shoes except the wingtips (so it includes the penny loafers and chukkas, etc) are all on sale being reduced from $248 MSRP to around $150 - save $100! I didn't see the sale online, so cop! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

i worked at cole haan for a hot second. it's weird seeing customers buy meh products for hours on end.

on that note, don't buy the lunargrands. they're fucking terrible. spend that $150 on whisk(e)y instead
