There is a shoe store in Philadelphia, I'm blanking on the name.  Sherman Bros?  Anyway apparently they have a trunk sale every December.  It's in-person only.  I snagged a pair of PTBs for 15% off.  That's almost unheard of for Alden.

There's also that one Shoe Mart web site (shoemart.com?, I dunno) that often carries Alden seconds. A lot of these are flipped in B&S. (And the flaws are usually pretty negligible).

Any military surplus store should stock made in US wool watch caps for around $7

^I second that recommendation. They are some of the warmest caps I've worn, and I don't feel too sad when I eventually lose one. I probably go through five or six each winter.
