I have a skewed perception of the Porter sale because I had the Our Legacy section bookmarked months ago in anticipation of the sale and didn't bother to venture outside of it once the sale hit.

I wonder how the no founders thing is working out for them, I predict a different sale structure for spring.

I think the founding member sale is just an agressive marketing move - draw enough attention and let everyone knows it. Once it gains reputation, people will buy full priced stuff. Have you guys notice this year porter's sale stuff gone much quicker compare to last year.

Yeah but overpriced... Most of the items are more expensive than if you directly buy it from the brand.

Why? Mr. Porter's buys have been, for the most part, boring and/or unappealing. At least WW attempts to make interesting buys.

Just wanna warn people that WW doesn't mark down the value of the shipment.

I just got a letter from fedex asking me to pay a duty of $176 for a 530 euro purchase. Needless to say, this will be my last purchase at WW.

Also got hit with $42 or so on a $270 knit. Just got marked down too so hopefully they price-adjust.

Update - made my purchase less than 7 days before the price on the item dropped and they didn't price adjust. They told me "it's not possible and it's not correct" to do so. Sigh, oh well.

^ That sucks. Seems like WW isn't a great place to spend $.

2nd drop at Barneys. Can't really find anything at 60% off online, but I'll try to go to the store during lunch.

Gaziano & Girlings are sub $500 online, but none are my taste. Hopefully one of you can find something different in store.

Edit: good prices on C&J too, if they're your style and size.

can anyone comment on what the coats labeled "Filson Garment" are?
I've never seen them offered before from Filson, are they similar to the Red Label gear that came out last year for the European market?

Yeah, Filson Italy, I believe. Nice goods from what I've seen, although how to differentiate among their lines I have no idea.

I remember the few times that I've ordered something from WW in the past they've had the value make down. Looks like thats changed. frown.gif
