I've ordered from TBS four times, packages have always arrived without any duties within three days despite my being in the middle of the US.

I haven't gotten hit with duties from TBS either.

To jeannoob, you might be able to get some new cures on gilt in about 20 minutes. I think they put them on there just for you.

I was simply curious about how much TBS duties would be so I have another option open, and gauge for any other future purchases at TBS. Also, with HST the APCs at dutil would amount to around $190 (which is probably why they're priced lower than other stores), and if I can save maybe $30 at another location then I'm gonna do that. I mean this IS the sales alert thread isn't it?
Yeah that's exactly what I'm planning to go for! Actually the funny thing is, dutil had their APCs priced at $195 before. I only noticed they dropped the price when they opened up their online store, so I don't know if their pricing of $168 is permanent :P
Thanks for all your input guys!

Yeah well, those taxes pay for all sorts of stuff, like, you know, the free healthcare we all enjoy by living in Canada?

I've ordered from TBS at least 7-8 times no duties.

quick question... has anyone seen any Rimowa suitcases on sale anywhere? I want to get one for my Mom for Christmas. I remember last year Barney's had them really on sale but maybe it was just because it was later in the season as I can't really remember when I saw them. Any help would be appreciated. Thx nod[1].gif

If anyone here likes Porter, there's a small selection of them going for half off at Slowdownjoe

Pretty sure Barneys never had them on sale in store at least

Also some Porter items 50%, and they seem to ship Royal Mail, so most likely no duties

Look man, I just want to find the best deal on a pair of APCs. I apologize if me being cheap offends you, but rest assured, I contribute to HST as much as any other Canadian. No need to be so judgemental haha

well I am going to wreck the thread with another customs story.

I just got hit with customs on a purchase from LN-CC. I was surprised by that because I asked by email about it specifically before buying and they responded "As we now transact in US dollars and on a DDP basis the price on the website is the final price. You should not receive any extra charge from DHL or customs prior to your delivery." Their website says the same thing.

I emailed LN-CC a few days ago about the customs bill and haven't heard back. I am assuming this is an honest mistake on their part and maybe they haven't gotten back to me because of time difference + weekend + they haven't heard back from DHL.

I will let you know if they make this right, or if they don't. I am hoping they can get this sorted out because LN-CC is one of the few webstores that sells anything that I want. I would like to buy from them again.

I wish they would just ship by Royal Mail......

I will check tomorrow when I get to the office. The DHL person I spoke to said no duty was paid on the purchase, so I suspect the answer is no. The DHL invoice gave me one business day from receipt to pay or my payment was late due. Thanks DHL, love ya inlove.gif

Same here, value was listed in GBP, I remember seeing that and noticing that they marked the value down by about 30% or so.
