I live in Toronto too, and TBS has the whole e-commerce thing figured out. Only place where I've made an online purchase that I didn't later regret. Purchases something once from Billy Reid, shipped by FedEx and got hit with $56 in fees on a $130 jacket. It was a made in the USA denim jacket, and with the NAFTA agreement I shouldn't have been hit with such insane duties.

Purchased a CDG wallet made in Spain from TBS for that same price, also shipped by FedEx, and wasn't hit with duties at all. I absolutely <3333333 TBS. Love so real I wanna get it tatted on my arm brah.

the whole NAFTA deal almost never pans out. for it to work the stores have to declare it properly, so when it his canada it goes through properly, instead they put it in a box, slap on the address and send it. once you get the package, i don't think theres a way to backtrack and claim it was made in USA and get the money back

You can dispute the charge, but it's a hassle and it takes forever for a ruling. Probably not worth the time unless you get hit with a pretty big duty charge on a NAFTA good.

TSB shipping, or Letter carrier.

I've only used TSB shipping and I have not had any issues! Also opens up your options for those stores that only ship within the states.

People that are in Canada crying about brokerage should have inquired first about shipping I live in Canada and before I order ANYTHING I email them and ask what service they use and if they would mark it down. I even TBS, and which I have know always marks down items I always ask so there is no surprises. There is always a risk when your cross boarder shop.

Yeah, found out my order got hit with $12.50, which I guess is alright. But I spent $80 at the Knottery and I didn't get any customs at all. May also have to do with the fact that the Knottery declared their items at $8 a piece and used USPS...

I think from now on, I'm going to try to stick to Mr. Porter and Roden Gray for my purchases. Mr. Porter actually improved because there are no duties now and I only have the 5% Alberta sales tax. Hell, $21 for shipping isn't even bad considering the item comes in 2 days and I don't get hit my duty.
