Got a watercolor print shirt, silk canvas pants, and some shorts.



The pants are too small for me right now, but I had to get them because the fabric is absolutely insane. Very heavyweight silk cord fabric, lined in white silk. I was planing on getting the waist taken out, but the legs might be too skinny for me. If anyone's interested, I'd be up to sell them to someone. I think these are a one of one sample as the production stuff was done in a ballistic material.

Yeah, except that's, you know, not actaully true. You're probably just mad because they can't mark shit down to 80% off at the end of the season like the corporate ass warehouse websites.

Good for them for even surviving without catering exclusively to the super rich or only to the #menswear crowd when so many other stores have vanished. It's not fair for you to diss on a store that helps a lot of people get what they want without selling it next to Givenchy or Dsquared to pay the bills.

melonade, I was actually just at BB today and I gotta admit, at least their Portland location seems really confused insofar as the identity which it wishes to project. 50-60% of the clothing stocked there is Obey's Propaganda line, and why even bother with that shit for a boutique anyways? There are very few pieces from actually dece designers not found elsewhere in the city (RO, RG, etc), and the pieces they stock are like off-season, barely on sale and really not too great.

Nice candles/cologne/apothecary stuff though.

I'm actually friends with the new designer of Blackbird, I think he's doing pretty good work with things like the suits and dress shirts

I'll chime in and say that I always have a wonderful experience when I go to Blackbird Seattle. They stock a nice range of clothing so they appeal to any budget. I think that the complete inventory is pretty cohesive.

BB just need to update their website to reflect their actual stock levels - ive asked for measurements in the past for an item listed online only to be told that they cant find the item and that often have items up online that they have run out of - minor issue but it needs to be fixed.

So... when are the PE items going to start popping up on B&S?

And theom-, what size are those pants? I'd be interested if they were my size.

for fun i went to blackbirds blog and went back to 2005. they were hyped on stocking modern amusement and a ton of really cheesy baggy chav brands. nice to see their progress though. 

 

btw for you l.a. peeps, i went to wasteland melrose today and someone unloaded a ton of stuff. RO Bomber, tons of Drkshdw jackets, a shit load of KVA jackets, tons of yohji, all in the $2-400 range.
