I ordered something this morning and have already received a shipping confirmation. What seems more common is that you click on an item that shows in search results, and it takes you to a blank page. I take that to mean the item is out of stock.

i'd say barneys is mixed. sent me the wrong size the other day and actually gave me a hard time with the return. then again, thom browne website did the old sorry item out of stock to me yesterday.

Yeah, Barney's has done it to me before though they're usually not too bad... and no one compares to OC when it comes to the "Oops we don't actually have that in stock" email. I've gotten it at least 7-8 times from OC, compared to 2 orders that have actually shipped. I think barney's has improved though... I ordered a couple things today from their online warehouse sale and when I checked an hour later the website had updated to show both as no longer available...so it seems like their stock system might be better now.

Damn, that's quick. The worst is shops that give you ground, 2-day, and overnight options and then go and make it pretty much meaningless by taking 4-5 days to actually get the order sent out.

Yeah, I was surprised, too! This made me actually go back and check the tracking link, and Fed Ex already shows it leaving their facility! I guess I got lucky - Barney's shipped immediately and Fed Ex got it out last night.

I'm also wondering what condition my "final sale" "warehouse" good will be in. I'm hoping they look new and not beat up and shopworn.

How was the muttonhead stuff? I saw some shirts I liked on their website... might have to bike over there and check it out

A couple things I ordered yesterday from Barneys were taken off the site as soon as I purchased, which can't be good

probably is good thing actually..

I feel that is completely valid if they are up front about it. You are still getting it quicker than if you had chosen a slower shipping option.
