Our average order is over $200 so that means most of our customers in Canada AND the US are getting free shipping on their orders. It costs about $18 for us to ship even a t-shirt to the US, so we lose out on literally every online transaction. We also don't charge HST on any orders outside of BC, which as far as i know should be the policy for all shops. Basically if you are in the US and you are looking at an item on our webshop that costs over $200 and is manufactured in N. America you should not pay a single dollar over the listed price.

International shipping is a whole other story. We routinely pay between $60-$100 to ship to Australia, UK, Japan, etc. The most we charge for that is $45, so again we are losing out pretty much every time. For us the trade off of having access to customers far outside our local market is worth the lower margin, but obviously not all retailers feel this way.

I just want to make sure not all Canadian retailers get lumped together with this perception. Aside from ourselves i can think of quite a few other shops that offer reasonable shipping rates and make it easy for international customers to shop with them.

Everyone buy from this guy^^

Yeah fourhorsemen is good, you guys are pretty fair

The reason im pretty critical of roden gray is that they charged me like 120 for shipping and the slip said it only cost them 75, so they went out of thier way to screw me over for like 50 bucks, full well knowing that im going to see the slip as they have to include it in Australia

Thats pretty bad IMO, and I wouldnt buy from them again no matter what they have

Nothing but good things to say about 4HM. Their shipping rates are better than a lot of domestic stores, which is both sad and awesome, and their customer service is what you've come to expect for the most part from the affiliates (Guy is the best).

Even being in Canada (like 2 hours away from Roden Gray/Haven/Inventory) I still get nailed with crazy high shipping costs from time to time.

4HM is great though, I don't recall ever paying any shipping costs.

Agree 100%. Some of the international shipping costs that I've see have been absurd, but you eat some of it to build a new customer relationship.

Respect. Nomad quoted me $75 to ship a pair of W+H pants.

That is unacceptable in every way. That shipping quote is offensive in every way. Avoid at all costs since they obviously aren't looking to create a good online presence or a new customer base, especially with those living overseas.

Yeah, didn't buy from them and will never buy from them. Check out Razele's encounter with Roden Grey if you haven't, absolutely ridiculous.

Safe to say international buyers will only buy from 4HM from now on.
