^ Yup.. I've been waiting quite some time to no to no avail. At least the Elf doesn't go on sale in black leather.

Gimme Shoes might have sales on rare occasion but its usually 15percent or so.

LOL at feeling like 200 dollar boots.

I bought the Elves at Co-op in Georgetown years ago for $110, I think it was 60% off + an additional 33%.. they had a full size range, nobody wanted them. I didn't like them so I flipped them on Sufu, and I had a hell of a time selling them even then. I wore the brown work boots that I also bought around $100 for a year or so, but ended up selling those, too. In the end, if you're going to spend $500 for boots, there are MUCH better options out there. Just save $200 more and buy Guidis, or if you don't mind used shoes (sup shah) Augustas or Carpes. Trust me, the difference is tremendous, and F+B are not $500 boots. MOMA, Marsell, Premiata, NDC--a whole hoard of options I would pick over paying retail for F+B

Edit: gettoasty if you really want cheap(er) zip boots, buy these: http://www.serie-noire.fr/ConceptStore/lang-en/shoes/1531-man-boots-paul-smith-black-glenn.html
I'm not a big fan of PS either, but it's better than F+B and in this case, cheaper, too. UK7 might fit you at US8.5 (though I would do a bit of research, first)

i posted the eerie noire deal a couple of months back, got no love for doing that cloud.gif

Well FWIW, all but 1 pair (white MMM whole cuts) that I have bought used I have not been FULLY satisfied with so I can understand where Shah and Fok is coming from in terms of buying 2nd-hand.

I'll sleep on those F+B a bit and look around for some more options. Kind of want a nice pair of zip boots ATM since it is S/S vs. an outerwear piece TBH. Appreciate all the looking out icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I like the Ricard from PS but bought it twice in the wrong size. Lovely boot IMO, but sizing really bummed me out. I am a 7.5UK and it's a rare size I guess

I saw these in a few sizes for $90:

And I saw some white wingtips (forgot the color of the sole) and some black wingtips (with a white or tan sole) for $100 I think.

I told him to. peepwall[1].gif

I take it back, though; apparently F+Bs are the new Aldos.

So what's the baller version of the Elf model? The only thing remotely wacky about it is the wrinkling at the ankle.

FWIW, I tried on a pair of the suede ones at Barney's (they didn't have the smooth leather version), and I thought they were ok. Soft, felt like they'd mold to your feet pretty quickly. Also, I realize that the current advice is to ball out on footwear and outerwear, but I still like some "cheaper" stuff; my CP chelsea boots aren't anything amazing, but I really like them, and I wear them about as much as I do my MMM side-zips.

I liked them on internet photos but when I handled them in person (black leather 745 work boots) I was really unimpressed.  I think they would be ok on sale regardless of whether they actually do get discounted or not, but compared to the other shoes/boots I own which were purchased in the $250-$300 range (Raf, and even Varvatos) the leather didn't look so great and the shape was kinda meh as well.  It could be the pair I handled perhaps, but considering  what else you can get for that money if you're patient I'm really glad I was told to wait when I was considering buying a pair.

apparently some ass cleaned out the CPs at the Spurr sale (on choosybeggar). more than 25 pairs. guess they had additional stuff they didn't put out. pays to be an asshole, and I could've been that asshole! haha musicboohoo[1].gif
