I picked up a few candles from big companies from them, but that's it. Knowing who is going to get a first crack at repayment, pouring money into that enterprise at this point feelsbadman.
Yeah, well, I had the bright idea to return and repurchase some things because the price dropped considerably. I should have taken their automated message of “sorry, we’re not answering the phones right now” when I called about a price adjustment as a sign that it wasn’t a good idea.

I mean, I feel bad for you. But yeah, sending something back to a company in administration and winding down was probably not your wisest decision of all time.

I returned one order (Matches approved the return and even included a return label) and it was on the truck but hasn't been delivered back to Matches.
They're in Administration and during this period they're still trading as normal and you should be able to get a refund as long as the goods are returned. You have a tracking number so I don't see getting a refund being a problem. Bear in mind they've laid half their staff off so refunds may take longer to process. The Administrators are be trying to sell the company however I think it is unlikely they will find a buyer so the eventual outcome is the company will be wound up.
If you are going to place an order, use a credit card and don't plan to try returning anything.
This is good advice.

Amazingly, Matches accepted the package and refunded me. @ike_hiking_boots was right. It was a bit of a risk on $1.3K of goods, though.

Apparently, most people were having problems earlier this month because when they went into administration on April 8, they enacted a policy that no orders placed before then were eligible for returns. Some people were out hundreds or thousands of dollars because they couldn't return items that were eligible when they bought them.
